It's time for my first oil change in my car. I know it's pretty straightforward to have done but I just wanted to verify before taking it in that I wasn't going to get hosed by somebody. I was thinking about taking it into a Firestone for about $20. Is there anything wrong with that?

Which Firestone? That sounds cheap.

If you're that worried then just have it done at the dealership

New cars don't require oil changes anymore. Something about saving the planet. Just drive it and enjoy!

Don’t take it to one of those 5 minute oil changes or Bennys

Way too much. You can get a top notch oil job for $3. You need to shop around unless you want to get taken to the cleaners for $20.

If you don`t care what oil they put in and just watch to make sure they don`t strip the oil pan plug. Meaning look for leaks after leaving the place. Just make sure you know what your car is supposed to use. Like Synthetic or standard oil.

It cost around $25-$35 to change your own oil if you use regular oil. Synthetic is a good bit higher.

Firestone oil coupon is a great deal. I've been there many times and no issues.

Key word there Walt. YOU CHANGE YOUR OWN OIL for $25-35 depending on oil and sale price.

I use Castrol when it`s on sale for $21.99-23.99 for 5 quarts.

No, but it will cost more than $20.
