The first thing they're gonna do after they put you under is look at your dick, laugh, and take pictures to show their friends.
Edited for god-awful English skills.

My first surgery was reconstructive on my ankle. They come in the morning of surgery and shave my leg from the knee down.
I wake up out of surgery back in my room and my thigh on my opposite leg has been shaved and I'm freaking out wondering if a Catholic priest had done my surgery.
Claimed they had to shave my thigh to put a tens unit to get better blood flow to my other leg.
Strange shite can happen during surgery that you have no idea about.

Best way to describe it. For me at least, on the way to passing out, my heart started racing.
They've had trouble putting me out before. I was terrified I was going to be paralyzed but awake.

Bookmark this. That first piss after coming to is the most aggravating thing ever. Just be patient.

Did this ever come to fruition?

Make sure you count your kidneys before you sign anything post-op.

I had hand surgery, and they numbed my whole arm. When I woke up, I thought my arm was normal, and tried to move it. Ended up almost popping it out of socket, and it hurt for almost a week after. My hand didn't hurt at all
I got pins put across my hand

if they prescribe pain meds, either get them before surgery, or on the way home from the surgery. when the nerve block wears off, you'll want them instantly.

did that to me when I had rotator cuff surgery a few years ago, that was the most uncomfortable part of the entire ordeal, took forever for that to wear off, I think that was the nerve block

It was odd. I thought my arm was completely normal when I tried to get up

what was annoying as hell for me was I couldn't feel my elbow joint and I have a habit of these little exercises I do at work to try to stave off DVT that involve clenching different areas of the body and holding for a few seconds, it killed me that I could feel one elbow and not the other

Well, for me and what I can remember barely. You get IV and then they used Propofol, for the nerve block. I’ve always had a very weak reaction to Propofol. The last thing I remember was that the nerve block hurt like a mofo. Not to worry chances are you won’t recognize it or care at all about it once you wake up. When I woke I was convinced that I had not operated and.
Now painkillers. Particularly hydro. I had both a plate in the wrist and screws in the ankle all at the same time. So I think I was on painkillers two weeks after. It was miserable, you will be constipated. I went number 2 once in two weeks. It was rough. So make sure that you go because it can become a serious condition if you don’t. Go back to the doc if you absolutely can’t.
Good luck and gods speed! Enjoy the nap.

Dr Schultz #1
Or prunes. 3 to 5.
Softeners not necessarily enough.
Win this one. Better diarrhea until you learn how many prunes do it, than not pooping. Hernia is a bad thing.

1. Do NOT, ever, trust what the doctors tell you. Make sure you have someone who you trust there with you at all times.
2. ALWAYS discuss the procedure with the case management department at your insurance company BEFORE the surgery, making 100% certain of what will & what will NOT be covered, and at what level/percentages.
That way you won't die of a heart attack when you get the bills, and yes, there will be shitloads of them..... 1 for every single person, needle, syrnge, gauze pad, pillow, bandaid etc etc...
3. Get a 2nd and possibly a 3rd opinion before ANY and ALL surgeries, no matter how small or how big they may seem to YOU. If any of them don't or can't give you the same or similiar prospects for good results, then start all over with and entirely different set of doctors at a different hospital/practice.
4. Getting knocked out for a so-called "minor" hand surgical procedure seems a bit of overkill. Either the doctor(s) are flat out lying to you, or the procedure is much more complicated/serious than what they are leading you to believe....
5. And most urgently, be certain your demands for a round the clock crew of sexy, smoking hot nurses in the recovery & post-op rooms are agreed to in writing by everyone involved :)
Good luck and fingers crossed for ya!
