First Astros Game: Other than watch the game, things to do?

Yes, we're all aboard the bandwagon.
My son is 10. He loves Alex Bregman (LSU) and Jose Altuve (He is the shortest kid and plays second base on his team)
Is there batting practice? Cool restaurants in the stadium?
Place to stand for autographs before, during after the game?
Looking for suggestions.
Thx

If he wants to meet the players here's what you do..
Put your kid in a wheelchair and tell everyone you're with Make A Wish. Shave his head and tell them he has cancer and will die any day now and that his dying wish is to meet the team.

When you google maps Minute Maid it isn’t wrong. The warehouse looking building is the ballpark

Yeah but we normally don't have a kid so one of the guys has to pretend he's retarded and we tell them we're with The Arc... National Association for Retarded Citizens.

Spend a few bucks on the pregame stadium tour. It wraps up behind home plate during BP for ~30 minutes before the gates officially open. I did it with my boys last year and got pics with/autographs from Bregman, Altuve, and Correa.
Have fun.

Damn been to 40-50 games there and never realized this. Will have to do this for my trip early September.

OK. Winner. Thanks
Details on how to do this? Is this something you sign up at the stadium to do? On the website?
Thanks,

Two things make it memorable but only one is in your control.
Knocking an older lady or young child down to get a foul ball is good. You look huge in your son's eyes... just to get him a ball that he will lose in a week. The crowd response to you will fix it in his mind.
But if no fouls are hit near you? You really are limited to running onto the field. The key here is to do it DURING a play. Cops are paying less attention and you can make it further and you will disrupt the play. Also obviously, you might make it onto ESPN or something like that which will make you almost a human God in your son's eyes.
Good luck.

I been to Astros games waaaaay before they were good... So I am not a bandwagon fan.
As for as things to do. I haven't been to one in a few years, but I am sure someone can recommend places for you to go eat. I am pretty sure you can go watch BP. I would imagine getting there about an hr before the game will be enough time to watch BP.
If you are lucky it might be someone's bobblehead night in which the first x number of people gets a free bobble head.

Take a tour of the stadium. I haven't done it so I can't say if its worth it or not but it might be cool.

Get there early for BP. Stand by the gas pump in left center - catch a ball.
The gift shop in the far corner from center field brings in game-used balls, marks them for the situation in the game and sells them. Kind of a cool memento for your kid if he doesn’t catch one.
Torchys is the best food in the place.
Agree on the tour. Cool look at the whole ball park.
