Nothing. In today’s world you wasted money unless it makes you excel at your job and you become the top performer.

The CEO of waste management made a comment he can get MBAs all day and pay them 65k a year but can’t find anyone to drive a garbage truck and make 100k.

FWIW - I have an MBA and it help my career significantly. I also graduated 20 years ago from a top 5 program.

What types of jobs are you trying to land. Just depends. But if you have zero or little work experience it won’t matter. If you don’t have a likable personality people won’t want to work with you.

You must be very proud of yourself.

MBAs don’t really change anything, for what it is worth.

I work offshore. 18 years in controls. I need to look better than a coonass operator. I’m not sure what level of education one needs to know more than everything.

Good job! Always great to see someone further their education and then have it pay off. Good luck!

They won’t change at all…but you will be able to note MBA behind your name on your new business cards!

Congrats!

We apologize but we’re moving on with other candidates due to your lack of synergies and risk management

I go up 2 pay grades when I get my MHA, plus the company paid for over 50% of it. I am about $5k out of pocket and will have it this year. IDC what others think about it.

That is without ANY promotion, any promotions would go on a higher pay grade with the masters, but not all positions have the same grade increase, and some jobs require a Masters or doctorate so it narrows the candidate pool greatly.

Most people start at the bottom and work their way up. Businesses want to see practical experience.

Start your own business. Doesn’t need to be huge. Pick a product, market it, sell it, and make a profit. If you can do that, it will look good on a resume.

Good friend of mine got an mba years back. After looking for a job for a few months after graduation, he made the decision that the best thing he could do was go to law school

Then after he graduated from law school and passed the bar, he took the next logical step…got a job in finance.

I'm 2.5 years removed from finishing mine and I make more than double what I did before.

I did have to move though, and I'm older (39) so have a good bit of experience in my field but it was certainly worth it.

Not saying this is the norm but wanted to give you a real life example to balance the negative shite you'll certainly hear in this thread.
