Aww man, that’s awful. Our little girl is going through some distress now as well. We’ve got her on meds and monitoring her progression to see if she’ll still have a good quality of life. We were distraught thinking she wouldn’t make it through the night last week.
I’m sorry you’re going through this, but I think all we can do is remember the great times and adventures shared and make sure her last days are comfortable and happy if that’s possible.

Very sorry to hear. Sounds like she had a great life with a loving family!

FINAL UPDATE: Sadly, our beloved Reesie departed this afternoon. She's now playing in heavenly lakes and fields loaded with ducks, quail, and pheasants within range of her every sniff. Our home and her pack will cherish every moment we had with her. Thanks to everyone who put Reesie in their hearts during this thread... your words of encouragement, heartfelt stories, and somber sentiments helped us BIG TIME over the last 24 hours. Thank you TD family... best corner of the internet.

Sadly, there are no words to make this dreadful day any better for you and your family. Hopefully you take solace in the knowledge that there is no more pain, hunger, or discomfort for her at all, and if God gave a soul to any animal in His kingdom, our dogs were the obvious recipient. Sorry for your loss.

So very sorry for your loss. A good dog becomes a big part of your life. Remember the good times and the love you all shared.
And whilst Ressie chases the ducks and quail, our Moose is watching her from under the shade tree with equal parts indifference and skepticism. He wasn't much for water, but he loved being out and about, as long as a stray leaf didn't attempt to do him bodily harm.

I hate dogs so much.
All they do is grow on you and then have to leave.
It's been 1.5years since we put our rescue down and I still make jokes about what he'd be doing if he was around.

Thoughts and prayers.
My old boy Ross, we got from a rescue 6 weeks after Katrina after we lost everything and were trying to find our way forward. He was 3 months old when we got him. He will be 15 this summer and he's struggling lately. I'm hoping I get to spend the rest of the year with him.

Echoing all the others - sorry for your loss. Dogs are tough to lose. On a personal note - a few months ago I stopped by with one of my “big and bad” dachshunds and for a little while he wasn’t so big and bad, getting mobbed by three bigger dogs. Reesie couldn’t see him very well and got a little too close for his comfort to sniff him a few times but they were all just curious at my tiny wiener dog in their home.

I am sorry for you, brother. So damned sorry.

I'm sorry. She was beloved member of your family and I'm glad you provided her with a good home.

She lived a fuller life than most humans.
Just hug her kiss her and then let her get that final nap in.

Sorry for your loss. Thanks for sharing. I hope
