You should read about annulments. It's clear that you don't understand how the Catholic Church views them.
The kids are not considered bastards.

That isn't how an annulment works..

Enlighten me. My understanding is that you're not allowed to get married in a catholic church twice, or receive communion if you are divorced. If you pay to get an annulment, it wipes out the marriage and you can receive communion. My first wife and I were not allowed to get married in the catholic church, because she was divorced and didn't get an annulment. My second wife is a devout catholic and insisted on getting married in the catholic church and we thought I would have to go through the annulment process. After talking to the priest, the church didn't recognize my marriage to my first wife, since we didn't get married in a catholic church and her first marriage was not annulled. What am I missing?

No shite. That was a statement about how stupid the annulment thing is...never been married...my kids must be bastards.

Paying a high price for a well respected attorney is stupid, IMO.
I have never regretted paying for the best lawyers or accountants in life no matter what the situation is. When it comes to those two professions only hire the best in town and you will always come out ahead.

It's all about how the Church views the particular marriage, by the Church's definition.
Nothing to do with what you think.
Nothing to do with what you think.

I don't disagree with you, with the exception of a no fault divorce...it's cut and dry. You can pay 10K for the best attorney in the state and you're going to get the same result if you pay 3k for some kid just out of law school. I'm talking no fault...obviously things change if that is not the case.

again, what am i missing?

Like a divorce, an annulment is a court procedure that dissolves a marriage. But, unlike a divorce, an annulment treats the marriage as though it never happened.

O yeah, if you get divorced for anything other than sexual immorality on her part then your still married to her through God.

You're not a devout catholic like Red Stick Ticketscalper, therefore you're a peasant and you will never understand her views and the real meaning. You will also never be as good as her.

you seem pretty shitty if this is your reason for wanting a divorce.... especially since there is a kid involved.

and you will find out the next Ms. won't be any better, or some other flaw she will have that will drive you nuts.
if she's loyal to you, hence no adultery, get your arse back in the marriage and make it work.

Probably a lot more to it. Her sitting around putting on makeup all day while the kid is never tended to.
Box Mac n cheese for supper. Occasionally spiced up with chopped Vienna sausages.
Crazy credit card purchases.
But just spit balling here.

There's always a dick involved. Even when you think there isn't, there is.
