No…shite like this don’t happen when I was in high school. Yeah there were fights, but they usually involved a one on one situation.
True story of worst fight when I was in school. I went to Woodlawn High School in Shreveport in late 80’s. Was probably 65 black 35 white. I don’t recall one fight between a white dude and black dude. Seriously not one. We all actually got along quite well.
Friday nights after games everyone would meet up and hang out at the local Macdonalds. It was on a corner in front of a large strip mall and all the strip mall stores would be closed by that time of night. So we had a huge parking lot to gather in. Even though we all got along the whites mainly stayed on one side of McDonald’s and the blacks on the other side but we would co mingle some especially inside the restaurant itself. The head dance line chick was a senior and dating a dude that was about 20 or 21 named Sam. They were inside grabbing a bite to eat. We had beaten Booker T Washington pretty bad that night. They were know for being a school full of thugs. Well a bunch of black guys from BTW showed up and went inside McDonald’s and got some food. They were sitting behind dance line chick. Keep in mind that all girls had that big looked up 80’s hair back then. They started throwing French fries w/ketchup in her hair and she wasn’t even noticing it. When her and Sam got up to leave he saw all the fries stuck in the back of her hair. Well OL’ Sam wasn’t having any of that shite and dove off in the middle of the BTW dudes swinging. More BTW dudes were outside and saw Sam whipping up on two of there buddies and about 8 or nine cam running in and jumped on Sam. Want to know who the first Woodlawn guys were to run in to help him? It was the black guys from Woodlawn. From the white side you couldn’t really see inside well but they could from there side and were quick to come to his aid. Turned into a hell of a brawl inside McDonald’s. Windows were broke and the police were called. Needless to say, BTW got there arse kicked twice that night. Man those were some fun times!!!

I saw a few classroom and lunchroom fights back in the day but they were two maybe three kids. Everyone else cleared out.
If there was unfinished business we went off site or at least to the parking lot.

This is EXACTLY what they use their cell phones for … stir crap up then film the beatdown.
Parents here in Mobile are complaining that schools are having students lock their phones up all day.
The side effects of this move are a huge decrease in fights and very few students loitering in bathrooms since they can no longer coordinate their fights.

Prior to Katrina, McComb wasn't a bad little town. Post Katrina, the descent has hastened. It would be interesting to know how many of these kids are dependents of Katrina refugees?
Someone will come along and post "McComb was always a shithole." McComb was never great, but is get much worse after taking on Katrina "refugees." Thanks, NOLA!

I was in the same boat. Got in a couple of HS fights -- both outside during P.E. or in general outside by the gym.
But that was back in the 90s when even the students who talked a lot of shite still didn't want to push things too far and screw up their grades or have a problem with their parents. So nobody was starting brawls in class.
