Pista

The car in the OP just doesn't scream Ferrari. The 488 Pista makes my dick hard, though.

The Roma will sell for under $250k so a C8 and 400K would be a hell of a deal.

If we are just picking cars I would take the new Ferrari F90 Stradale over basically any new car. Seemingly great hybrid powertrain with 986hp on tap. Just a gorgeous monster.

Ferrari is on a tear with new cars, I think the Roma makes the 8th or 9th new one this year.

As for the Roma, I am not a big fan of a V8 front-engine Ferrari, their front-engine cars should be V12s. I think my favorite front-engine Ferrari currently is the 812 GTS, while not a big fan of open-air cars it is damn sexy. 790 HP helps. The Roma while it likens back to early cars like the 250 Lusso it is too smooth for me to be a Ferrari.

550 Maranello FTW

Re: the Roma...gorgeous car. No need for Ferrari to throw all the HP at it. I like taking a step back and making a bespoke lux GT car. HP wars are overrated.

I love the styling and upvoted but it’s not good when a Panamera is faster.

I don't know of a Panamera that is as quick or as fast, at least stock.

A couple of things, Ferrari doesn't have the production capacity to effectively build a ton of different engines and this is a derated 3.9l. Further, there needs to be a level of bragging rights that comes with a Ferrari beyond the Cavallino Rampante on the badge and when you have GTs like the M8 with over 600hp it becomes a tougher sale with a more fitting say 450hp.

As for bespoke cars Ferrari just doesn't do that anymore. Porsche will arguably go farther in that respect than does Ferrari now.

So it tops out at exactly 200 mph? If not why wouldn’t they say the top speed is over 200 mph?

199mph = 320kph

This is the reason you often see many Euro cars listed at 186mph because that is 300 kph. There were a lot of Porsches whose factory top speed was 186mph.

Article said $220,000, but they always skyrocket upon release.

I have read it might be a little higher than 220k. It is unlikely these will command a huge market adjustment. That is usually just on the rear engine V8s and hypercars. You can buy the more expensive and exclusive 812 Superfast for basically list. The 812 GTS will probably see a premium for the first few that hits the street but that will likely die down quickly.

Hell, they pretty much just stole the DB11 right there

Take the Ferrari markings off and damn near everyone would say it’s an Aston Martin. Definitely stole that body design.

The turbo S hybrid is quicker to 60. About 7 mph slower top speed though.

But once you get into the options, the panamera quickly matches this new Ferrari on price.

Respectfully disagree. I’m sure there are some people that shop bang for buck, but I think many would rather have that Cavallino Rampante badge. Ex: The Viper ACR Extreme on paper destroyed cars that cost 2 and 3 times as much, yet was still a tough sale. If I were shopping, I’d take the Roma every day and twice on Sunday over any BMW.

Also Ferrari absolutely does bespoke cars...moreso than Porsche. Ferrari recently had done some coach building, can’t think of any recent coach built Porsche’s.
