My daughter had surgery Thursday before the storm hit and she also came home with medical equipment.
They said the only way to receive any compensation would be if we had to buy a generator for it. She said if they covered gas for the generator she could help but they do not cover gas.
I asked about the chainsaw and she said anyone is eligible you just need to set up an account online through FEMA, submit the receipt and proof of payment and you will be reimbursed up to $250. I have a limb high in a tree from the storm that I need a pole saw to cut so I might just be getting one.

If you already have a gas chainsaw. Now may be the time to get one of those battery operated saws
You can kill 2 birds with one stone by buying a battery chain saw and a generator.
That way you can charge the battery for the chain saw. Most batteries only give you about an 15 minutes to 30 minutes of cutting.
I have a Kobalt. That is the only complaint. The battery lasts shorter than your typical sex session.

I bought a Ryobi battery chainsaw and I used it for about 45 minutes the other day, worked great until the chain popped off. Replaced it and used it for a little bit longer

What am I gonna do with a battery that lasts under a minute?

I remember getting reimbursed for a pressure washer after Katrina….strange times. All sorts of shite was eligible.

This should be loved by our "Republicans" here. Most of Louisiana just calls themselves Republicans for fear of being grouped with black folks.
But boy, you start handing out power equipment, people come out the woodwork claiming "needs". Everybody loves a handout.
Go run a Venn Diagram and see overlap between those screaming on the Poliboard about Covid Restrictions and Biden with those seeking federal reimbursement here. Same batch of folks.
This is why Louisiana sucks. Everybody on both sides looking for handouts

It was happening before Katrina
I guess so, but I guess that's the first time I actually grasped it.
And I know people complain about certain people living off the government, but no one ever mentions those who have the means who know their ways around things.

Part of me definitely agrees. I bought a generator the Friday before the storm. I consider it a good investment and long overdue. I never even considered being reimbursed for it.
But the other part of me says if it's reimbursable than I will be the only one not bothering to apply.
In the end though I'll likely not apply. Based on some the responses, I probably wouldn't qualify anyway.
