I applied last night, was denied. Right now I'm renting, left town, been staying in motel since Tuesday. They didn't ask me about income.

Why wouldn't I take advantage of money being given away? Out of principle rejecting it when someone else who actually doesn't need it accepts it?
Government should help in times like this as it puts a financial strain on everyone not expecting to spend 100's in gas, lodging, and cleaning supplies. Government has a ton of waste and too many programs that hand out needless money but it is supposed to help citizens in times of need.

The way I see it, we are printing money, devaluing the dollar. Every time they print money it devalues the dollar I have. So excepting the disaster relief softens the effect of that.

If 500 dollars will make or break you, you need it.

Don't think it will make or break many, but it does help when you've come out of pocket for unexpected expenses due to a something like this.

I’ll probably get denied but I have it a shot for the hell of it. I must be stupid because a few of those questions were a little vague. Not sure if I answered correctly.

I have no real dog in the fight as I live in WA, however, dogging people who work for a living for taking "storm welfare" is kinda bs... If they need it they should take it and if they don't the "welfare" will be sent to what is likely a less deserving person
