The myth about storms being more frequent and/or stronger gets disproven every hurricane season by hard data. Why do they keep repeating it?

As Joseph Goebbles used to say, tell a lie often enough and it becomes the truth.

Okay, like are tornadoes a new weather event now?

Like no history of deadly tornadoes before the advent of Global Warming Crisis propaganda?

He meant massive outbreaks but arguing that will just make them point to the winter storm as proof of climate change

The President got on tv after the tornadoes and talked about how this is happening because of climate change.

At one point after this last system and the president spoke about it, Biden called a tornado a hurricane. Kind of takes a little of his credibility away.

I guess not the end of the world tornadoes like we just had.

We had a nice all day rain yesterday at my house. Haven't had one in months. Guess that's another example of the world ending soon.

There were outbreaks last year, easter 2020 had tors of similar strength (not as strong as the quad state, but EF4) running through southern Mississippi.

The thing is, the low pressures that lead to tornado conditions feed off temperature gradients but those dont care if its 90/60 or 70/40, still 30 degrees difference to work with. So warmer background would do little, and even more so when you think of the detail shite that has to be right for tornados.

There's a discussion to be had if the record warmth in the gulf of mexico did serve to goose surface temps a degree or two in the region this weekend, but thats not causation.

The causation was an unlucky pattern that funneled that air north for days, and then a small disturbance to fire storms ahead of the main one.

Sorry, I didn't mean to cause that. It's just agitating hearing someone like the FEMA Director act like a tragic December tornado has never happened before. People should know how wrong that is.

That's why Pelosi isn't spouting off. She lost her sister when that happened.
