just wanted to explain that, since these topics can be tricky regarding what upvotes/downvotes signifiy
That is not how downvotes work at all.

I thought we were in a foxhole together fighting the good fight with 2 kids under 3. She on the other hand was getting cozy with some dude she told me not to worry about at work and I think the idea of being a part time mom was less overwhelming... So now she is married to the guy I wasn't supposed to worry about and I'm married to someone that doesn't secretly hate my guts.

Do y'all not control the finances in a way that you are always in the know?
My wife has complete control of our accounts. I would be hard pressed to write a check. We have investment accounts that require both of our consents to make substantial changes, but that's only because the investment house has those best practices rules.
My wife has been with me since 1979, so I'm not worried at all.

I’ll admit to being blindsided. We were working through some stuff, but getting served papers after 25 or so years of marriage and 7 kids was a shocker.
Vasectomy is not a hard surgery to have these days

I was the one to pull the plug but in a way I was still blindsided. My daughter asked me why her daddy and I hated each other, which planted the seed because I thought we had shielded them from everything. I told him to do better or get out. He got out.

What do you think is the value of this comment? He is talking about 7 real people, each of whom has at least as much right to exist as you do.

I was young, naive and grew up very poor. Paid cash for everything, had money in Bank. Just built our first home. 6 months after moving in new home, Blindsided, she took all the cash out of the bank 100 K in today's dollars. Looking back I was really blind and naive.

Sounds like it was a shitty situation.

it seems like almost all marriages end in divorce, and it kinda scares me.
This is not true. The US divorce rate is 2.4 per 1,000 people; the marriage rate is 6.5. So most marriages make it, including mine. Started dating in 1979; married in 1985.

Blindsided. She told me she was pregnant with our child and also in love with another man. That was in a span of about 10 minutes.

Blindsided.
- Went to work at 8am.
- neighbor called me at 9 saying there was a moving truck in my driveway.
- called the house, wife said she didn't see the moving truck
- called neighbor to see if she was sure - she replied YES
- 9:30 i get to my house
- wife gone and all her shite is gone
- hadn't seen the bitch since
If you look in a dictionary, that is the definition of blindsided

Fortunately no divorce stories to speak of (yet) but I definitely feel for you bros. Women can be calculating counts when given the chance.
Hope you guys make out on the good end of these disasters.

Well, I'm pretty much always blindsided, but in hindsight I should have seen the writing on the wall

These threads always show a distinct difference between men and women. Do you know of a single man who left his wife and cleaned out the entire house when doing so?
They're evil. But, it's still undefeated.
