True or false: The commercial building industry in South LA is currently experiencing a Katrina level boom. My company is at the moment running at an estimating level the likes we haven't seen since late 2005. Hotels, schools, medical buildings, labs, apartments, federal/state/city buildings... It's like everybody just won the lottery.

And that's not even including the Lake Charles rebuild stuff. That's an another animal all to itself.

Anybody else starting to lose their minds? I'm moving from project to project so fast I don't remember what I worked on just yesterday.

We're a sub, not a GC, but yeah. It's steaming.

Nashville checking in. I'm a manufacturer and also a sub. We're busier than a one armed paper hanger. Commercial is very busy. Residential is off-the-charts busy. Add in labor and material shortages and things get fun.

Thanks to the hurricane and the icepacolypse we've been crazy busy in the fire protection side of things. New construction is also trending up, especially with medical buildings.

I'm hearing the construction boom is so hot they are struggling to make appliances fast enough to keep up with demand

What's the reason for this? All I hear about is how high the cost of construction is right now.

I work for a federal contractor on military bases and we have more projects than we've ever had before.

My bid calendar for the next 3 weeks is full. I honestly don't know how I'm going to estimate everything on there. Its a good problem to have.

Sub here as well. Lots of work to bid. Won several as well that are starting anywhere from now to late in the year.

We are pretty busy, but it’s primarily industrials and less office space for me in Dallas.

Not an ideal time either since we are experiencing a concrete shortage among other materials/supplies.

I'm surprised that hotels are expanding. I figured they'd be almost dead in the water after last year; likely struggling for capital to expand or improve.

The school market is booming. My company has won almost $200mm in the past 2 months. Half of that is one huge arse cornerstone projects for one of the major Isd's in houston.

Of course my company cleaned house early in the pandemic. Now they're short staffing the shite out of everything.

Nothing I enjoy more than running a project that should be staffed with 4 people by myself.

Tons of folks relocating out of heavy Democrat controlled areas like California, Chicago, Northeast and relocating to southern areas like Tennessee, N. Alabama, Texas, Florida. Rocky Mountains, Tetons, etc. Black on Black crime is also pushing all races out of large urban areas. Middle class has had enough.
