When the next hurricane comes through southern La. and rips off 2,000 roofs, you people will be screaming for illegal labor.

Hire a crew of white guys with neck tattoos and there’s a good chance your shite is going to turn up in a pawn shop in a few weeks.

Hot damn man, I ain’t no farmer but I’m not sure if a single illegal immigrant has ever touched a corn field. It’s all done with $500k plus machines and whitey doing 100s of acres a day. That couldn’t be more ignorant.

The issue really isn’t pay, a lot of these ‘illegals” are making $20-30/ hour. The issue is that we are paying our poor whites and blacks to live on welfare and stay home instead of having to work.

There certainly are. But are you willing to pay $100,000 more for a new home because labor for framing and drywall now pays $25-$30 per hour instead of $18-$22? All I'm saying is that I don't want to hear you or anyone else bitching about prices going up and blaming it on "greedy business owners."

We shouldn’t be relying on illegal labor.

And the solution is?

I agree wholly! Go after the fat cat executives and labor contractors. Sadly, migrant labor is abundant in all industries & segments of our labor force. It will be a very painful transition. None the less, it is necessary to right the ship!

True but most of them are drunks, druggies or just plain incompetent. Are those the people you want building your home?

If you start throwing people off off the government teet…..then yes, whitey will do it. Or any colored person abusing the welfare system.

This argument stems from turning off the spigot of freebies. Most welfare was initiated to help some that CAN’T do something, or people that need temporary help. Until they can become self sufficient again. It has morphed into abuse that most people cannot imagine. Someone needs to hit the reset button on all of this.

You can't blame illegals for wanting to work. I'll gladly trade them for the group that's like 14% of the population but they is be causing 90% of the violent crimes. Not to mention how they is be live time ebt'ers and section 8ers.

But yeah punishing the people hiring illegals over Americans had always been the way to end this. Should have been done 20 years ago.

These are facts. It’s not popular to say it, but reality doesn’t care who they voted for, what they believe, etc.

There simply is not enough legal labor to cover the void the skilled illegals provide.

Now, could things get “corrected”?
Sure, but it will take a lot of time and related consumer costs will skyrocket along with scheduled/delivery delays.

Is what it is.

, but the vast majority of the population really doesn’t understand that it’s no longer about paying lower wages for unskilled workers…. That was the case 15-20 years ago.

Now it’s there’s nobody else to do the job. Our labor force is drunk, high, on welfare and no longer capable of performing the work. Hence going after contractors for employing illegals will have some serious economic ramifications.

Correct

I’m all about shipping illegals out and “cleaning up” our welfare spending.

Let’s do it 100%

But let’s not act like it won’t drive construction time/costs sky high in the short term.

When it levels, assuming our government continues what Trump is doing after his term (it won’t), contractors and blue collar workers will have to adjust to making lower wages.
