Probably had something to do with the dog. These stupid people leave their dogs in the front yard and expect these delivery drivers to just walk up there.

BS, that guy looks like he was playing fetch with the dog with those sticks that launch balls pretty far. A dog like that could easily streak extremely fast into a street right in front of a car. Going at the speed limit, which lets be realistic and say 25 like most residential streets, would not give you much time and often leads to a lot of dogs getting hit on accident that is the fault of the owner of the dog.

Yeah, I'd say idiot drivers in traffic are responsible for the most slurs uttered by a long shot. Sometimes it doesn't even matter who is driving. Sometimes they don't even make sense. You can mix up your slurs, just a pepper pot of profanity.

I only have racist thoughts when I’m driving in traffic. I also have sexist thoughts and classist thoughts and ageist thoughts. Other than that I’m pretty even keeled.

Well, let's not hedge what he said by rephrasing it. Everyone is not a 'huge swath' of the population. You are imagining a scenario but also limiting the possibilities of reactions in that scenario. That is a ridiculous argument.

I have white friends, I have gotten into fights and arguments with them multiple times. We've cussed each other out, etc. Never have any of them ever jumped to the level this guy did.

For most people in this situation, they will say "fricking son of a bitch", or "motherfricker, learn to drive!". If while in road rage, the first thing you say under your breath is "fricking N....er!" Then you my friend have serious issues, and you are not the majority.

One, it should be shamed. Two, I am extremely skeptical of how many people have 'racist' reactions as a first thought. In the second premise you expect me to believe based on no real evidence other than your own belief that this is how other people react. That hasn't been my experience and you've given me no reason to hold your experience over my own.
Again, having intrusive thoughts triggered directly by stress or anxiety is not normal, especially if the reaction is 'racist.' You aren't even thinking through this position, just reflexively defending it.

Well first, they're your friends so I'd certainly hope not. This guy lives in Douglasville. He probably interacts with a 100 black people a day. Maybe he's a notorious racist, but I suspect he has black acquaintances and friends and doesn't make a habit out of this with them. As you know, it would be pretty hard to be an open and outspoken racist in Atlanta for very long unless you were at minimum very selective about it. Regardless, I think the number of people who could utter a slur in a heated moment with a stranger (and temporary enemy) greatly exceeds the number of people who are out-and-out racists walking among us.
But, as I mentioned earlier I didn't watch all of the clip, so the repeated use of lots of racist language might mean you're right especially as to this guy. But I suspect you know black people who have said gay/white/whatever slurs in anger but aren't walking around living and thinking in that manner most of the time, which is my point.

I don’t think saying the N word necessarily makes you a racist. A lot of people who don’t hate people because the color of their skin will use the word because they are pissed off and trying to be as offensive as possible. “I’m pissed off at this black dude and saying the N word is the meanest thing I can think of to hurt him as much as possible.”. Most people that use the word probably don’t walk around thinking every black person they see is a lesser human being or peice of shite.

Again, I can't reiterate how easy it is not to be racist at all. I'm in a high-stress environment all the time, and never is my inclination to essentialize someone else based on things for which they have no control.

I'm absolutely in the majority. I don't say the N word nor really think it. It's trashy. But if you think "effing thug" or "of course it's a charger" or something else with racial undertones doesn't show up in the fits of rage of normal people, you're just not being realistic.
