Trump already fired and then silenced the BLS. I worked with the BLS for years and while data collection and revisions seem complicated to people unfamiliar with the process they always did great work.

Sorry, but this is laughable. Anyone paying attention to the numbers the Biden administration put out knows how broken this system is.

but as was pointed out here already, they got revised down.

Of course. That's why...

Drop interest to zero. See how much Wall

Unemployment is at 4% which pretty good. This is just a political narrative over job creation trying to get a headline.

Trump may in fact be interpreting the stats so that they are favorable to his admin. But, inasmuch as Powell isn’t a Trump ally, could it be that Powell is also trying to create the narrative he wants that’s favorable to his actions? He’s been controversial for a while now, so he isn’t just some neutral observer watching from the side.

I think Powell is definitely trying a political play here with this. Either:

1- Pointing out this has been going on a while, to appear to be agreeing with the theory “Trump had to at least try to do SOMETHING about the incorrect reports”, in order get back into Trump’s good graces, or

2- Trying to plant a narrative that the Trump Administration has interjected itself into the reports and is boosting the numbers

Either way, I don’t think for a second Powell is finally coming out now with these “concerns” out of a goodness of his heart and wanting to be a reformer.

Tboy either has a short memory or information bias, but the Biden admin released fantastic job numbers on a regular basis only to have them significantly revised for the worse after a few days. To be fair, the corrections were never given on the first page.

Of course you don’t want to get into finger pointing, you leftist twat. This started under your boy Obama and has been a problem since

He may be right but he’s been completely misleading for 2years now. His credibility has taken a hit due to his own inconsistent language.. The very metric he used to lower rates in 2024 were caste aside after the election.

The Fed adjusted the 2024 hiring numbers downward by 911,000 back in September 2025. That's no rounding error. That's incredibly bad data that the Fed is using to make decisions.

I don't trust the data.

Where were these statements from Powell when they had to adjust 2024 job numbers downward by nearly 1m

Exactly. In 2024, there were nearly 1m fewer jobs created than reported. There is a serious data problem.

Rich that it's coming from Mr Transitory, who has been late to respond to every bit of the economic data that clearly has latency issues anyways. The data is late, but that doesn't change the fact that Powell also reacts late and nonsensical to the data that he does have. He's the wrong guy. It's been obvious that he's the wrong guy since at least 2022.
