Sorry, what I meant was the flu vaccine. The flu vaccine is believed to likely have been the cause of the Guillane-Barre’. She has not taken a COVID vaccine because of this.

A quick look at the FDA “food pyramid”
did you mean the USDA food pyramid?

sucks to be the 0.001% of the population gets GBS but almost all recover from entirely.
quote:meaning the vaccine GBS rate is roughly .001%. Which is ironically the same exact historical rate you normally see for GBS. weird.
After more than 13 million J&J/Janssen COVID-19 Vaccine doses administered, there have been around 161 preliminary reports of GBS identified in VAERS as of August 11, 2021.
Id probably look into if they had any recent strep, EBV, GI type illnesses, which are actually known risk factors for triggering GBS since there is not enough data to establish COVID vaccines as risk factors.

But if it’s FDA approved and your employer mandates then they are liable as well correct?
Employer's liability will almost certainly be limited to Workers Comp at most and Comp will have subrogation rights to the VICP payout if any.

is that more or less than viruses?
IMO this is always a silly "gotcha" people make.
One can either take the risk they will never get Covid and thus never get side effects, or they can purposely inject themselves with the vaccine not knowing if it will cause side effects or not.
This person was healthy, not like the ones they call healthy that are over 100 pounds, but actually in great physical shape in their early 30's and now they are dealing with something that could have possibly been avoided.

it's silly to ignore background incidence rates

Higher rates of GBS in flu vaxx than the covid vaxx

An 18 year old had mild myocarditis after covid
SHUT IT DOWN
See how this works?

The 20 plus year of Flintstone vitamins have my back
Relying on something that isn’t FDA approved huh? Or don’t any of you realize vitamins and supplements don’t require any kind of approval?
If you said 20+ years of eating a healthy well balanced diet so as not to require vitamins you’d be making a better point.

Crazy how you entirely missed the point with another failed gotcha attempt
Again, you can risk never getting Covid which means 0% chances of effects from it or the vaccine. On the flip side, you can purposely inject yourself with the vaccine and your risk of side effects increases no matter how small background incidence rates may be.
Even crazier if you consider the fact that you can still get Covid once vaccinated which means you can still deal with Covid side effects too.
How that is logical just doesn't click to me.
Posted on 8/20/21 at 6:35 pm to tigerskin
cool. it should still be a person’s own decision if they get vaccinated or not.

How am I fear-mongering sharing a fact?
Also, please read it again slowly and see where I did not say it was because of the vaccine as that part has not been confirmed.

If the last year or so is any indication you have about a 20-30% chance of getting covid over next year
Pretty high odds
