Jerry Clower is hard to beat.

I used to have all of Lewis G’s books.

My dad used to know Jerry Clower, said he was the same in person as on stage. Nice guy all around.

That's the name I was trying to remember.

There's some bit about a Thanksgiving dinner that makes everyone sick, couldn't remember if it was Dave or Jerry Clower.

Lewis Grizzard was a great columnist for the Atlanta journal constitution. Was a truly funny comedian, but Jerry Clower was an incredible story teller. On a national level, Foxworthy would be the most popular but he isn’t close to jc’s stage presence.

Jay Hickman. He used to play in Myrtle Beach all the time before he passed away. I'll paraphrase one of his best:
quote:

My old lady come home the other day crying. She said she went to the shoe store and the clerk looked up her dress and said "I'd eat that sumbitch full of ice cream." She wanted me to go down there and whip his arse. I said I ain't gonna whip his arse for 3 reasons. #1, you don't need no more damn shoes. #2, you ought to wear underwear when you go out in public. And #3, I ain't fricking with no sumbitch big enough to eat that much fricking ice cream.
