Uncle Ben's Fried Chicken on Nicholson.

Mickey's Gold Nugget, same location on Nicholson I think.

Romano's for Fried Chicken.

Wife loved Steak and Ale.

I recall the pizza at Shakey's was awesome. The place I miss the most that we have yet to have anything replace is Mike and Tony's. It had that Bogart, Sinatra, 1940's movie old school dinner club vibe with the white linen table cloths, waiters w/ white tux coats w/black bow tie, and the big silver trays flying overhead everywhere. Would love to find some pics of the place showing the tables, waiter's, etc, when it was in its prime. The Mirror Steakhouse, and then Europe's Italian. You had to drive to the north side for all of them but were originally Baton Rouge's finest back in 1940's, 50's, and 60's. Europe's was still open in the early 80's I believe. We lost some truly great food at each.

Also Joyce’s PoBoys in Westwego. Best damn sloppy roast beef I’ve ever had!
