My high school days were from the mid 60's and the cars of choice back then were all U.S. made with the 57 Chevy Belaire, early 60's Chevy Impala, Ford Mustang and Pontiac GTO leading the way.

A bonus was if they had powerful V-8's, 4 on the floor, bucket seats and a bitchin' 8 track to blast "Iron Butterfly's In a Godda Divita" rolling down the road.

Be prepared to pay a pretty penny

I've been looking for a clean k1500 and they're pretty high, for a 30 year old truck.

1992 Dixie Customs Chevy 1/2 ton reg. cab with step bed. That was the sharpest SOB in the high school parking lot, bar none. Wish I still had it. I was blessed, it was an early graduation present from my folks. I kept my grades respectable and stayed out of trouble and got the truck.

Everyone has dream cars of porsche or some classic mustang or a lambo... I think the spirit of OP was a vehicle that people actually (but rarely) drove in HS.

In my small town there was nothing more sought after than the extended cab Z71 4x4.

If you saw a HS kid driving one, the saying was always "cant hide money!"

I had a 1994 Ford Explorer (4 door) 4x4 with a 2in lift in high school that I affectionately labeled "The sExplorer", and the ladies loved it

In mint condition I'd happily still drive it today. I loved that thing and it would go anywhere, do anything my stupid teenage self could throw at it
