Class of 92 and in my senior year got the car I wanted, Mustang 5.0. Since I had to pay for it completely on my own and I was working for the year prior to get it, the "newest" I could get was an 84, but it was a sweet 20th anniversary edition.

I’m not talking about offering them as special editions. I’m talking about completely replacing their current everything-lookalike drek with just basic unique vehicles like these.
You would be surprised. If the desire was really that high you would see a lot more restomods being daily driven. I know probably a dozen people that own them and only one is a daily. We just aren't Cuba.

I wanted a 5.0 so freaking bad. I still do. This was and still is one of my dream cars.
However, I didn’t have it so bad in high school. I drove this
Still have it.

1988 Toyota Supra Turbo 5-speed
Still have grandma's (RIP) 87 turbo 5-speed with under 40k miles. Starts right up but needs some deferred maintenance and to re-paint the bumpers. This reminds me to get 'er in the shop in time for spring.
I always offered to drive her around in it or take it in for maintenance, but she was worried about insurance and practical stuff. Fun story - she once brought it to the dealer because it was "riding rough." She had accidentally hit the "Sport" button on the TEMS (Toyota Electronic Modified Suspension).
I always liked Jake's 944 turbo.

In high school it was the girls that had 79-82 Camaros... Z-28... Trans Am... A good friend had a 69 Camaro that was willed to his brother.. That car had extremely low miles and was cherry.. Later it was stolen from outside his parent's house and never heard another word about it..

‘74 Camaro. Sounds cool but it rolled out of the factory with a 350 cu inch motor, two barrel carb and single exhaust with a whopping 145 HP.
I added dual exhaust, transmission shift kit and four barrel carb but it was still slow as hell. Had a killer sound system though.

Late 90’s early 2000’s here. My dream car was the Pontiac Trans Am WS6.

One of my rich friends got a 1993 Mitsubishi Eclipse in 8th grade. He was 13.

I was happy with my 77 Impala.

74 Camaro.
I had a 74 Z28. Bought new, was an “ok” performer, nothing special. Could not keep ahead of the rust. After 3 years, I gave up on it and it was a disaster. Got little for it on resale.

Boomers that were teens in the 80s and 90s got muscle cars and grew up to give their millennial kids camrys and Subarus for the “safety”

Not a fav but ‘85-‘87 drove a ‘77 Dodge D100. Golf ball some how got in frame behind seat and rolled back and forth with each turn.

Mitsubishi Eclipse, late 90s variety.

Nice
We threw a police package 5.5 in the Mustang and that thing was a bat out of hell.
