Girl I worked with at East Towne Mall (Knoxville) in ‘84 had a sweet Mazda RX-7. Fun to drive and had an awesome sound system.
I moved to Johnson City in ‘86 and a coworker had an ‘86 Fiero SE V-6. Always thought that car was underrated. Had a heavy clutch and drove angry, I assumed it wasn’t happy that people generally dismissed it.

GMC Syclone
I could only dream about having one back in my younger days. Ended up buying S10 with 4.3. It was actually pretty fast and problem free but no where near the beast Syclone.

I’m not talking about offering them as special editions. I’m talking about completely replacing their current everything-lookalike drek with just basic unique vehicles like these. If people don’t have a choice they will get them. I know, safety standards and regulations will never make it possible.
ETA:
The post directly above mine is key to this line of thinking.

I’ll offer this quote from Don Draper:
quote:
Nostalgia - its delicate, but potent. Teddy told me that in Greek nostalgia literally means “the pain from an old wound.” It’s a twinge in your heart far more powerful than memory alone. This device isn’t a spaceship, it’s a time machine. It goes backwards, and forwards… it takes us to a place where we ache to go again. It’s not called the wheel, it’s called the carousel. It let’s us travel the way a child travels - around and around, and back home again, to a place where we know are loved

My first truck was an 81 GMC Sierra my grandfather gave me. I loved that thing. I got the 92 Nissan JR or SR year. That damn Sierra would be a classic now.
