We had a county marshal who was in charge of animal control. He supposedly got a call about roaming goats. He went to the house they were seen around and OPENED their gate and drove down their long driveway. Stopped and got out and their family dog came out. He was a Boston Terrier which isn't exactly a pitbull. Officer pulled his gun and shot it right in front of their autistic kid who was chasing after it. Turns out the guy was a POS who was already under investigation elsewhere and was hired as a favor by the cty mgr. The case hasn't been settled yet, but a few heads rolled.
So I can understand these things could happen but damn they need to be liable.

It’ll be interesting to see what happens in a situation similar to this when the property and pet owner shoots the cop for it.
I would legitimately fear for my life if I looked up and saw a cop in my yard who then proceeded to shoot my lab in front of me. At that point, I have no reason to suspect it’s a real cop and would feel I have every right to protect my person and property against a violent intruder.

And this is the dog he shot. Clearly just a mixed mutt that he 100% took for a pitbull I bet.
Meh, just like 95% of this board.

Is there a legitimate reason that cops shoot so many dogs? Are they trained to do that?

Do you really not know what would happen?
The owner will either be killed in the shootout with additional officers or arrested and convicted of murder.

Interesting......
Isn't it? I bet that he/she/it comes from another football website, although a very liberal one.

Being it’s Faulkner county I’m not surprised, the only real surprise is it wasn’t Conway PD.
This is why it’s hard to Back the Blue with POS like this

More interesting . . . that story is from 2020.
Also, that sheriff's department still has comments turned off on its Facebook page.
