It's always a little awkward for me as to what to do for my mom's husband.
He doesn't have children and he married my mom when I was 25 so it's not like he was really a step dad to me. He's a good guy and I like him but not sure of the proper protocol.

OP, get your apparent 4 dads together, leave the house with everyone’s golf clubs, head to a bar and get high school drunk. Maybe even head to a strip joint (bring throw away shirts just in case). Go home without a care left. Get yelled at by your wife, but it won’t matter, if you drink enough, you will not remember. Go to work on monday. In case you ask, no, golf has nothing to do with it.....
I kid, obviously.
Truthfully, you must be a young father. I used to listen to the “...why don’t you spend Father’s Day with your kids?” From the wife. As you move forward in life, you really give fewer sh!ts about the little things. Do whatever you like. However, it is nice to allow for time to have your kids hand you presents IF they have any for you.

You’re right on my wife’s side. I don’t care about that.
I bring up divorce because I would say men in their 30s-40s have a lot higher chance of having a step dad in comparison to their dad’s generation.
My step dad has been a wonderful father figure to me for over 30 years. I have a great relationship with him and my biological dad. Wouldn’t be right to leave him out.

What have you done on Father's Day in the past? Were you two boys just born this year?

I just do whatever the frick I want to all day.
My dad is dead. Wife usually goes and has lunch with her dad the week of. Her brother’s wife always throws a big get together at her house on Father’s Day. I haven’t gone to one yet, nor has my father in law.

I’m actually taking my family down to stay at a fishing lodge Sunday night and taking a charter fishing trip Monday morning.

Look at you and all your privilege of knowing all these dads.

Give everyone a call that matters to you and do your own thing.

What the hell is the protocol these days?

In my current situation, My dad, wife's dad and 2 step dads (who have been a great presence in our lives) are all living.
You handle your Dad's and you Step-Dad (if you're that close). Let your wife handle hers.

I also have 2 boys at home.
Then your wife should be handling their gift to you if they're not old enough to shop themselves. And this is your day with them IMO. If you chose to stop by the others that's cool but the priority should be you and your boys.

have a bbq with everybody together.
I'm smoking a pork butt and having the parents on both sides over.

6 feet apart, of course
That's probably not going to be a priority.

The last conversation I had with my Dad was last Father’s Day.
Take the time and visit or at least call your father because you may never have another chance.
It’s also your Father’s Day so enjoy your day with your kids.

You would stop trying to make everybody else happy and have a nice afternoon grilling some steaks with your boys....call your dad sometime during the day to wish him a happy Father’s Day and have your wife do the same with her dad.
