how long should the dad have waited? i guess if he only partially injured his neck he should have politely waited until the ref using his IN DEPTH MEDICAL TRAINING BACKGROUND decided something was wrong; by then the other kid could have popped his neck off.
you clearly don't have kids or you would see this differently.
Anytime an illegal move is called, recovery time is granted......So just by calling the illegal move, which we can see, the son was going to get time to rest/get treatment if he wanted

Dad should have taken out ref for not doing his job. His son though put himself in a bad position and the slammer found himself in an advantageous position that just about any decent wrestler would move on. Lower man has the advantage.

I have wrestled and been around amateur wrestling since I was a wee bit.
I have seen far worse drops than this and sone were by overly aggressive wrestlers. In this case the kid that got dropped did something you should never do in that circumstance which is reach back for the headlock. Anyone who is not a moron can clearly see the momentum from that reach turned him and made it where he dropped the way he did. Rules wise the onus was still on the person bringing the other wrestler down and he rightfully was given a penalty. There was no intent or he would have been disqualified. I challenge anyone to find a qualified official who would have called for a DQ.
In any event if I thought my son was hurt I would be more concerned with checking on him rather than committing assault.
This parent is rightfully charged with assault and will rightfully never attend another one of these matches.

I mean I'm not sure how anyone can say the father is fine doing this. Yea the kid did something illegal and could have hurt his son, but that still doesn't in any way justify his actions.

i love how everyone on here gets to take the time to enjoy a cup of coffee and then analyze his actions and pick apart everything wrong.
poor dad only had adrenaline, 2 seconds and a need to act.
i'm sure if he had the time to analyze something that wasn't happening to his kid and properly write an essay on the correct action he should have taken it would have been different.
