that test was being done by Sweeds, I bet you have the Stig drive the Bugatti and he wins.

Power to weight ratio bodes better for the Agera. The Veyron weighs a shitton.

Koenigsegg Agera R: 1124 hp on e85, curb weight = 3164 lbs

Bugatti Veyron Super Sport: 1184 hp, curb weight = 4162 lbs.

Oh, and the Agera looks way better than the Veyron...but that's subjective.

have read that Hennessey is a crooked douche.

Oh you have have you?

He happens to be a friend of mine and I've known him and his wife for more than 20 years.

Glad you read some blog and suddenly you think you know all about him.

People hate success.

Well I've asked three times in this thread and no one has answered me.

Why do they think this?

Beats me. I'm sure there are plenty of jealous car enthusiasts that compete with him that are mad he built this company out of nothing and gets all the publicity. He's an 'outsider' who never attended college and I watched him go from removing asbestos to pouring his heart into his dream of making high performance cars.

Haters are everywhere.

I think he had some issues with getting cars done in a reasonable amount of time and still charging a premium for his product...I also know he is famous for going on various forums and calling out/flaming people who say something about him or his company that he doesn't like.

I personally don't care. I've never done business with him and probably never will...but that's because I'd rather do my build myself or send it to a local shop instead of shipping a car to Texas.

So that's their beef? He's a little slow on the mods to their cars and gets defensive about his company's reputation on public forums?

Any of you owned your own company before?

Yeah I googled and found a bunch of those. Most of those articles/forums are from 2002-2006 so I don't worry too much about it. Plus I'm not doing business with him. I participate on the OT so I know how shite can get stirred. Three sides to every story. His, theirs and the truth which is normally in the middle.

Yes. It's a stretched out Lotus body, and everything else is custom fabricated in Texas, IIRC.

It's actually not. The only things it shares with a Lotus Elise are the dashboard and doors. Everything else is completely new. There's no way in hell a Lotus Elise chassis could handle that much torque.

And I would take this over a Veyron everyday.

1. It has an H-pattern transmission and 3 pedals like God intended.

2. It's American.

3. It has a Chevy pushrod V8.

4. It doesn't take 5+ miles to reach top speed (that runway was 3.2 and it was still climbing).

5. It sounds like a rabid wild beast from hell.

I'll take it.

Well...in some of those people's defense...we are talking about some expensive cars and paying up front for modifications that cost more than the car itself. When you're throwing around that kind of money, you have certain expectations. That being said, issues like he had seem pretty par for the course when it comes to high performance shops like his...you can find similar stories for nearly every performance shop of a similar caliber. Especially on the forums. I don't agree with him selling/swapping parts off customers cars if that's all true though, that's kind of shitty. But, all of that was years ago...I haven't heard much bad about Hennessey recently...he runs a good shop and builds some awesome vehicles. The automotive world would be a lot more boring if not for him.

I know what you're saying, but when I said "body", I literally meant the body. Everything else is custom fab'd in house. It's n awesome car...not the supercar I would buy personally...but it's badass.

Yep. The entitled crowd that thinks the world revolves around them and he should turn the cars around in 3 days.

John is a perfectionist and what would be worse.. Getting dinged for taking too long or rushing out mods and taking shortcuts?

The latter is a much tougher reputation to repair.

Nothing against him. Just more of an Underground Racing fan after seeing both in person.
