This guy could have been involved in a car wreck and become addicted as the result of the pain medicine administered...who knows...he could have become addicted as the result of war wounds overseas.
Oxycontin even made Rush Limbaugh an addict and a junkie.
This is just more proof of how fricked up our system of justice is.

Thanks Roger. Part of my attitude is this may have been an issue with my cousin. I only met her once but my uncle is torn up about it. It isn't definitive that she was he just implied to another cousin her bf seemed shady and he thought something was up...whether it be drugs or domestic IDK yet.

Yeah it is. But according to your own words in this very thread.....

... That's exactly how you feel.

none of this is relevant. He had a choice and the free will to get clean. He chose not to. Just like he had a choice to pay the fine.
His death is his own fault.

It is. It doesn't mean I want them to die though. I think that they have some culpability in what happens to them.

I've had a cousin go through it and am having a friend go through it now. I know for a fact they are decent people who, once becoming addicted, became something totally different.
I'm not throwing my friend away. He worked for me earlier this year and left me with a huge mess, but incarcerating him will make him more institutionalized, not a better person.

Man, you are one stupid motherfricker! Did you even read the article dumbfrick? He was getting treatment for his addiction and it was the withdrawal from the treatment that killed him.

Wrong. Going to jail was his fault. His death was the fault of those over the jail. How are you not getting this?

You've shown no compassion. Quite the opposite, frankly.
I never said I was happy a guy died...I said I won't be sad over it. Big difference.

It's not about justice. It's about hiding the undesirables away. Our CJ system favors those with resources.

Then I truly pity you. You've lost your sense of humanity and compassion for your fellow man. That's no way to go through life. For your sake, I hope you do some soul searching and reconnect to these things.

I am watching a friend battle demons with his son. Pain meds...he can't get clean or stay out of trouble. Unbelieveable the shite the family goes through dealing with an addict and that is what is sad to me. I have seen this kid offered more help and chances you could ever imagine...frankly I am a little surprised he is a free man.

Where are all the videos of inmates acting weird and crazy and then they live? I cannot imagine the things prison guards see on a daily basis. Plus they hear it all. I will bet every single prisoner says they are sick or dying or they cannot breath.

Did it say anywhere why the family didn't pay the $772 to get him out of jail since they care so much?
