For me it's not that I would think I am better than anyone going into one of those stores (I sometimes set foot in Wal-Mart also). It's just that I try to avoid a store like this unless I absolutely am in a bind...otherwise I am not going anywhere near these types of stores.

Yes. Stuff like DG and Walmart are a gift to the world from the south.

Dollar Tree is better than all of them.

Dollar Tree is the place to go when you need birthday cards, wrapping paper and gift bags. 2 greeting cards for $1 sure as hell beats $5 Hallmark cards everywhere else.

And they don't realize it just makes them come across as extremely insecure.

This. There's no way a bunch of Louisiana baws are gonna pretend they don't occasionally go to one of these stores.

You misinterpret what I say, I absolutely go to either when it's the close, convenient option.

What's weird is going to either enough to have a strong enough opinion to feel it necessitates a thread

family dollar is garbage. I never see one in a location worth a damn. They suck. Dollar Generals are always in a great location, are clean, basically they are for people that live out in the country, especially if you forgot to buy something from the grocery store while in town that takes 15 minutes to get to and 30 on a friday night. My granny ain't gonna go without making all her grandkids cornbread. If she forgot the corn meal mix one of us gonna have to run to the sto to get some and the nearest sto is the DG 5 minutes down the road. In and out with time to get the cornbread ready at the same time as the dumplings are ready to eat.

Dollar Tree/Family Dollar and Dollar General are both 40+ billion dollar companies. They must be doing something right.

A growing population of poors dependent on the state certainly doesn’t hurt. I’m sure those companies have the EBT metric dialed down to the nano-cent.

We have two Kroger’s near us and a Dollar General. Nearest WalMart is close to 30 mins away as is the nearest Target. DG close to us is always clean, workers are useless but it’s always a quick trip in.

DG is also a great stock buy. They’re expanding like crazy.

Is Dollar General the same thing as the Dollar Tree or is it more like Family Dollar?

It's more like Family Dollar. Some of them in small towns are like a mini Walmart
