74-year-old husband ran over his 66-year-old wife with his truck and crushed her between the truck and school bus.
Edith Atkinson is her name
WAFB
She was the college and career counselor according to WAFB, but was a math/science teacher according to the FRA website.
Assuming it was a true accident, I'd probably go home and kill myself.

This is horrible. I'm sure that the OT comments will further destroy my remaining faith in humanity.

I hope that's not true. I can't imagine waking up the next morning, and all the rest my mornings, knowing I was responsible for my wife's death.

Yeah I’d probably kill myself if I didn’t have kids. That would be so damn awful.

Just found out that the woman who passed away taught me driver's ed. She is a long time FRA employee and pretty well known in that area.
Prayers for her family. Really sad day.

Supposedly pinned against her or her husband's vehicle. Bus either backed into or rear ended her while she was getting in.
Really sad story.

I was told the husband thought the truck was in park, evidently put his foot on gas... And just like that..
