How sad. I don't think that he'll ever recover from this. I can't imagine.
My worst recurring nightmare is accidentally killing another person with my car. I worry a little bit less about my own life than what I might possibly do to others.
Killing a loved one would be the end of me. I would hate each of my remaining days.

I know this was an accident, but wow... There is just so much fkd up stuff going on in the world right now... Check that, right here in America.

There was a school bus involved. I would imagine that the students saw some part of this, even if it was just the response.

You are right about this. Sadly, at his age. The grief, stress and depression will probably kill him.
And I couldn't imagine accidentally killing someone.. One of my cousins.. who later became an addict and is supposedly clean now, but she was going home from work (she was college aged working as a bartender). Evidently a truck with a trailer quickly pulled out and the truck in front of her had to suddenly stop and she ran into the back of the truck, which hit the trailer on the truck that pulled out in front of the truck.. And the driver died. Her parents question whether or not that situation lead to her addiction... but I am sure it would be tough to live a normal life after the fact.

I just saw the news and instantly recognized Mrs Edith. I knew her and her husband and they were such a sweet couple. I always saw them together. She had a lot of spirit and determination. She was quite a character.
I'm devastated for her husband. He is such a sweet and devoted man. My heart hurts for him.

She had been a teacher at Fra at least 30 years if I had to guess. They had a daughter that's in her 30's. I heard it happened around 2pm and school lets out at 245, so hopefully no kids witnessed it.

Mr Mike already has health issues and I don't even know if a young, healthy person could recover from something like this. I always saw Mrs Edith as strong woman who helped him thru all of those things and took care of him and was also so strong and by his side.
They live in a good community and are well loved and known so I know the people will do their best to help him adjust to life without her.
She was not just a sweet lil old lady working at a school. She was not shy, she was no pushover,in fact it was she who pushed "her kids" to do well and to keep going. She was a character for sure.
A pic of her from a few years ago. Even at 60+ in age, she was always up to a challenge like this.
They live in a good community and are well loved and known so I know the people will do their best to help him adjust to life without her.

This brings back haunting memories while in college, we were loading a suburban at a warehouse dock (it was a emergency type of transportation situation thus no 18 Wheeler’s available) - the truck wasn’t back far enough and one of the customers kids got behind the drivers wheel (just trying to be helpful) and slammed into the dock pinning their mother.

Everything you said is dead on.
I feel so bad for Mr Mike. Such good people. I can’t imagine someone being able to recover from that. Their. children have to be beside themselves. They effectively lost both parents today.
