Fall vacation ideas

Trying to decide where to go with the wife. This will be a trip for a few days in October or November. We were planning on Austin as she wanted to go to the Adelle concert but ticket prices are crazy. So Austin is still on the table but it doesn't have to be Austin either.
We haven't done any traveling to the west coast together so I'm thinking maybe somewhere out that way. Throwing around Seattle or Vegas as ideas.
What places am I not thinking about?

i strongly suggest Ashevill NC. Weather is perfect, yo ucan go flyfishing in Cherokee/ Bryson City. Visit the biltmore Estates, eat and drink in asheville at night. Great place to be in October.

I probably wouldn't do Seattle unless it's sometime between June and September. No better area to visit during those months, but it's very hit or miss with the weather outside of those months.

If you're worried about spending too much money, not sure if Vegas is the right place either.

Asheville / Western NC area or Vermont. Beautiful that time of year, beats the hell out of going to Vegas.

Seattle is a good one. Short ferry trip up to Victoria, Canada, you can drive down to Portland...
Also, lots of cool nature stuff fairly close as well, if that appeals to you
Other ideas: Chicago, SF/Monterrey Peninsula

Fwiw, we went up just guys to Syracuse for the game last year and drove around the countryside to Cooperstown. Man, upstate New York some nice area. I definitely want to head back up there with my wife for a few days. Some sort of upstate ny/nh/vt trip. Very picturesque.

Great suggestions. I didn't think of NC but it sounds like a good option. I'm going to look more in to it. Any suggestions of where to stay? I saw a magazine ad not too long ago for a hotel on the grounds of the Biltmore.

Just do what I did. Say "screw it" and move from New Orleans to Austin.

Seattle is great too. Went there before going to a concert at the Gorge one fall. Great place to be... And Austin is awesome, but i would plan a Spring trip there, enjoy the sun and the kayaking in the Colorado river, the creeks and streams.

The problem with the Adelle show is it would probably be $2,000+ for bad tickets.

Vegas. Put the wifey on the penny slots while you enjoy the OT package: hookers and blow.

You could stay on the Biltmore, but its pricey. We got a cabin in Maggie Valley (Witts End Cabin) and it was so rustic, off the beaten path, centralized for fly fishing and going into asheville. and very clean and tidy as well. I could get you the guys number that owned it, as he met us there and was very friendly. well priced too.. Airbnb is a great outlet to find cabin rentals, and i could put you in touch with our guide for Rainbow trout fishing in the Cherokee trophy waters.

Savannah, GA
I'm here right now and the weather is gorgeous.
Great food, good nightlife, and a lot of stuff to see/do.

Vancouver is really nice. It's the prettiest city in North America, for my money. San Diego is great in October, and there is a lot to do.
