Facebook posts that make you lose faith in humanity.

OT, what's the type of Facebook post you see your friends/family repeatedly make that make you question our societies intellect?
For me, the "This (insert random 31 day month) has 5 Fridays, 5 Saturdays, and 5 Sundays, and this only happens once every 850 years so repost this and get good luck" posts hold a special place in my heart.

People are sharing a picture of South America with the caption "if you can't locate Zimbabwe on a map you shouldn't care about Cecil the Lion."
I'm not sure if using the wrong continent is intentional, but it's definitely lost on some of these people.

quote:That's a pretty pointless Facebook post--even if once every 850 years is accurate; however, of all the illogical, illegible, and overly emotional posts and interactions that occur everyday on Facebook and other social media sites, what you posted would hardly blip the "what is wrong with people" radar.

Facebook as a whole makes me question our society's intellect.

Any of the "like and share to stop cancer" type of posts. Doesn't accomplish shite.

Whenever a holiday is coming up, you always have the "Remember that you're celebrating it wrong" people.
Veterans Day? No celebrating, people sacrificed stuff so you could have this day, so sit around and mope all day.
Columbus Day? Remember that he's personally responsible for murdering like, 6 million native americans. No celebrating.
Memorial Day? See Veterans Day.
Christmas? Jesus died for our sins. No smiling.
New Years? 2014 also died for our sins. You people make me sick.

You're not sure if it's intentional? Really?

The "repost in 3 minutes and god will do you a favor" crowd.
All I want to do is reply with "you stupid frick," but it's not worth the effort.
Like for Jesus. Share for Satan.
fricking morons

I don't read by Facebook very often, but my wife will occasionally read some posts of HS classmates that she hasn't talked to in years but they end up in her feed. What really confuses me are those people that post every single aspect of their lives--including many trashy things--then complain that people aren't "minding their business."

If I've seen this once, I've seen it 300 times. I die a little bit inside every time I see it, and wonder how I'm related to these people or continue to keep them as FB friends.

It's intentional but I don't think some of the people sharing it even realize that it's a different continent.

quote:Yeah the political memes--both from the right and the left--are irritating. It's like someone isn't smart enough to post their own views, so they take have to the take some biased, fallacious, and simplistic meme to represent their views.

Send this to 5 friends in 5 minutes and you will have good luck.
My 96 yr. old Aunt did not and she has not been laid since.

Don't forget the anti-Obama crowd usually complements the "you're wrong" posters with PROOF that Obama is wiping his arse with the flag during "patriotic" holidays, or outlawing them altogether; and he is cancelling Christmas in favor of the relevant Muslim holiday.

The "special place in my heart" logic is as follows:
(1) There are only 14 possible calendars, and 7 of those require it to be a leap year.
(2) I just say a friend post that this year was one of those special Augusts - however she posted this showing last year's calendar
(3) She made the same post last year
