So one issue? Or did it start a whole set of issues? Are we talking in the thousands to fix?

I know Ford sucks because both myself and many people I know had Ford 6.4L Powerstrokes.

$4K to replace JUST the timing chain or $8K for the motor.
It was the only issue, but IMO the motor is a fairly big issue

just curious, what kind of maintenance cycle were you on? oil changes every 7500mi? synthetic oil?

Synthetic every 4-5K miles, which was probably too often but I like to stay on the safe side and I expense all maintenance anyway.

6.0 diesel = pile of shite
6.4 diesel = pile of shite
ECO Boost V6 = pile of shite

I've always been die hard Toyota but was tired of crappy gas mileage so I traded on a new GMC with the 6.2l. Im averaging 23mpg and it will smoke almost any stock truck on the road. The two Fords I have owned lived in the service department. Hope I have better luck with GM only time will tell. Ride quality is somewhat subjective but I would give the nod to GM.

ETA: You can down vote away but if you try to argue that the 6.0 and 6.4 aren't junk it just shows you are a fanboy and an idiot.

For 41 years in a row!!!

Also hands down the favorite of the oil patch. GM and Dodge trucks don't survive that!

I don't typically put any stock in the advice or decisions of a group of people who drive $60,000 trucks and live in mobile homes.

ETA: I felt bad for making that joke. I'm not cut out for trolling. I'll leave it to the pros.

no stock truck will beat this in a race.

All of you saying "Ford is shite" "they're cheap" "Fords suck" "muh Ram".... can you please give (in detail) with a real example why you think so? Because nobody ever actually is able to do so when asked. It's groupthink among the truck nazis that Fords suck. Like a bunch of yentas just going along with the others.

There is a video that shows how much the chevy can accelerate faster with a heavy payload compared to the F250. Also, look up the frame twist test that simulates uneven road conditions. The F250's frame twisted about an inch, dent popped in the tailgate, and you couldn't open it.The Chevy could open and the frame only twisted less than a quarter inch. In the first video it also shows how quickly each of their exhaust brakes kick in. Chevy won, of course. Lastly, look at the TFL Ike Gauntlet. Chevy won. The silverado has the highest resale value in it's category and holds the number 2 record to most miles on car at over a million.

If they are paying for the truck, you should be thanking them for the opportunity to advertise their company each and every moment that you drive THEIR vehicle.

I had a timing chain actually break. It wasn't replacing the timing chain that cost, it was when the valves all went wonky and punched a hole in one of the pistons. Chain, rebuild heads, replace piston, $$$$.

Who the frick buys a full-size truck based on whether it can beat other trucks in a race? God damn you must have a dick the size of a pinhead if that’s your barometer for what vehicle you purchase.
