They may have to update the blue eye stats. They do seem to be a little more common these days.

There was a study done in the early 2000s i Think that suggested people with lighter eyes have a higher tolerance for alcohol...They also linked this to people with lighter eyes having a higher tendency to abuse alcohol

Stats are supposedly from the World Atlas 2019. Blue eyes are more common because you're probably around whitey most of the time.

Brown Eyes vs. Baby Blues
Those with darker colored eyes experience less visual discomfort in bright, sunny conditions. Also, darker irises reflect less light within the eye, reducing susceptibility to glare and improving contrast discernment—so people with darker eyes may have better vision in high-glare situations, such as driving at night.

On the flipside, by having a low concentration of melanin pigment, light-colored eyes lack the additional protection.? More harmful UV light can pass through lighter colored irises, increasing your risk for developing cataracts and macular degeneration.

Brown eyes have superior performance

People with blue eyes have the same genetic mutation that causes eyes to produce less melanin.

So that's why I'm so pasty white.

I have bad eyesight day or night, but glare does give me problems.

My son has various shades of green in his eyes, but mainly mid-dark green.

My daughter has eyes unlike I have ever seen before. She has a deep blue/sapphire ring on the outside and light green toward the pupil.
