My bil had a 80s model chocolate whale tail turbo. Sold it for a nsx when they first came out. He sold the first year nsx for a new mb sl at the time. Worst mistakes he has ever made on his collection. The air cooled turbo is worth a good dollar now as the nsx.

As a former Porsche Brand Specialist, I can tell you that IMHO the reason the 918 has not had more horsepower is because it would quickly supplant the 911 .
But purchasers will have to give up the spacious backseat and the insurance discount over the 918.
