You would think those assault ships with attack helicopters have the most advanced fire suppression systems in the world in those hanger bays

Surprising they would not have extinguished this quickly.

If it was in for maintenance/refit it may have had some systems disabled.

Just asked all emergency personnel to evacuate the area. Came in on the scanner.

Likely a fire not at all related to weapons or munitions. Hell, a fridge or AC unit may have caught fire. Either way, the Navy is down a mini-carrier for a few months.
