Kind of related......a couple of years ago a combine caught fire down from our house. A tire blew before the smoke cloud broke the trees. It rattled the windows.

Might have been private property or something to that extent that chose not to be incorporated when the city was.

There is a plot in BR similar by Towne Center.

I’ve been here before. The place is a dumpster fire & this doesn’t surprise me any at all just from what I’ve seen in person and how things are handled there.

“We’ve been doing it like this for over 30 yeeeeeears!!”

Yeaaaa …
Kaboooom.

Tell me when they report no danger to the public, usually an hour or so after the event and hours before they have any data

That orange cloud looks like nitric acid is involved, maybe their AN unit?

No injuries everyone made it out unscathed. We responded and were turned around on arrival. They have their own “fire brigade” and wanted no outsider help. Feds are arriving. Place is locked down. Couple
Blocks near by have been evacuated. Everyone else is shelter in place.

Can't have any outsiders seeing the conditions of the unit.

This is pretty standard to have your own emergency response team. At Exxon in BR we have our own firehouse with multiple fire teams. There’s a team for responding to leaks, a team for responding to any releases that get in the water, a team for medical emergencies, etc. And they’re all made up of employees that get extensive training.

There’s all kinda shite that happens at work that the public doesn’t know about

Exactly my thought when I saw the video. I worked at Arcadian Chemical in Geismar, now Nutrien, in the 80’s-90’s on the NH3 side and there were 3 nitric acid units. When they started up or tripped off line there would be a huge orange/red cloud just like that one.

Seems that most of these units are old. Many have been demolished over the last 40 years.
