Let me help you, I was about your age when I got on it. I got by without it but everyone knew I has ADHD, it was running joke.

I took the test and was one of the highest or worse ever in history of the place and have been on it ever since.
I get monitored for everything and it hasn’t done shite. it does occasionally help cause insomnia.

Like any drug it was great first few years but I can’t tell anymore. i think focus factor helps too

Literally isn't meth. Spend 30 seconds researching the difference and come back to report your findings.

I’ve abused it before in college. Stayed up close to three days during finals my Junior year and def experiencing some psychosis affects. Hallucinations, both auditory and visual. Wasn’t really scary once I realized what was going on, thankfully I was done with everything and was just waiting to crash.

Got prescribed after I got out of school solely because I just don’t really go to the doctor and took the test and was prescribed.

I take it during the work week, but just my scripted dose. I won’t be able to sleep otherwise. I do get irritable on it at times.

ETA: Orgasms are incredible on somewhat bigger doses.

I could drive from here (BR) to Vancouver on it with no stopping...or eating.

And your pee pee shrinks

I think it’s overprescribed

It’s also used a lot Irregularly and it’s not supposed to be used that way. It’s a daily prescription not “as needed”.

If you have any addictive tendencies don’t take it.

At 45 you’re probably good if you don’t have the self control now you’ve already found your vice.

But when they gave lootie a script at 19 and it was easier to buy when you ran out than it was to buy beer underrage…. It quickly became a 200mg a day habit that lasted a few years. Then went cold Turkey and that was dark. It’s been close to 10 years since any was taken but there definitely a fog for a couple years after It was stopped being taken.

Anecdotal experience. YMMV.

The feelings and adverse reactions are different based on the amount you take.

But generally:

Overall effects:
- it helps you focus but not by directing your attention anywhere. It’s for ADD. So it makes it difficult to DIVERT your attention to a new task. Take some to write a paper. You’ll write a paper for 10 hours. But Heaven help you if suddenly you Wikipedia the musician you’re listening to. You’ll read their entire life story. Then Wikipedia the history of the iPod. Then Steve Jobs. Then watch Apple keynote speeches from 2005. Your focus is like the eye of Sauron. A laser beam. Burning through what it’s targeting.

- there is a boost of energy. Being tired is not a reality. The sun goes down as you drink a coffee. Adenosine bounces off your brain. Then epinephrine and norepinephrine kick in. Your heart is racing. Your armpits sweat. Your fight or flight mode is engaged and the night melts away and suddenly it’s daylight. And you haven’t yawned once.

- euphoria/mania. There is a come up experience with it. As it starts to hit and before you get really focused it is a flood of serotonin and dopamine. You may want to text people, email professors, clean your room, talk to your mom on the phone, DM your ex. This lasts for about an hour or two.

- comedown. You won’t eat. You’ll forget to drink. Your piss smells like coffee. You suddenly have barren receptors in your brain as reality loses the drug induced shine. You’ll get cranky. Irritable. You’re starving and thirsty. And suddenly you’re tired. You feel miserable.

So there it is:
A mess of fight or flight adrenaline mixed with heart racing dopamine rush that helps you focus for some reason like cyclops from X-men for 12 hours then leave you starving like a homeless person.

As an aside: the ascending euphoria as the adderall hits is similar to molly/ecstasy. If you took that specific aspect of it, that singular feeling and ramped that aspect up by like a factor of 100 then that’s what it feels like.

There’s only so many receptors in your brain drugs can play with and they all kind of overlap a bit.

You want a drug banned for everyone because 1 person you're close to allowed it to destroy his life?

Absolutely insane.

It can be a gateway to cocaine and possibly cause heart issues.

I know a few guys who are really struggling because they can no longer function acceptably without it.

My business partner. Adderall twice a day to stay focused combined with alcohol and weed to bring him down in the afternoon, along with double fisting vape pens throughout the day. I tell him all the time he's going to die at 45.

I still have yet to hear one harmful side effect. Granted, I’m not a fan of getting into drug use in my 40s, but convince me why I shouldn’t take a couple pills if I’m trying to get through a big project or crisis situation at work. So is there and withdrawals when not taking? Are they any more extreme than legal stimulants?

Pros.

You’ll get shite done. You may not like what you’re getting done, but trust me, you’re getting it done.

It gives me the gift of gab. I’m fairly personable without, but I’m on point when I’m 25mg deep.

Helluva party drug. 10/10 would recommend.

Cons.

I get a bit of a hangover from it. Mostly just a headache.

If you pop 50mg as a 140# dude, you’re gonna end up in the back of a strip club (Stilettos) after the natty LSU lost to Alabama getting your Johnson slobbed on by what may be the least attractive stripper on earth.

It also gives me gas.

You’ve been warned.

I've been taking L-tyrosine 750mg for about a month. Can't tell a huge difference other than more vivid dreams and remember them better.
