Try out being blinded by headlights in a snowstorm on a mountain pass.

What you assume is someone running on high beams is probably just low beams in a newer car. Most new cars switch high beams on and off automatically now.

This. If I’m in a dark area, I’ll get someone flashing me all the time thinking it’s my high beams. So I flash back to let them know I’m not being an a hole, it’s just the lights the vehicle came with

My low beam headlights must be bright because I routinely get people hitting me with they brights at night. When I hit them with my brights they realize what assholes they actually are.

Then you should take 5-10 minutes and figure out how to lower them and align them with the road. Everyone around you is trying to make you a better person and your just lighting that help on fire.

Had this experience a few weeks ago coming back on a Sunday night from Florida. It’s more annoying when they’re behind you and have their brights on. I wanna put a light bar on my car so bad so I can flash these motherfrickers behind me.

Should be a legal limit to the brightness of low beams.

So selective enforcement can occur? So that the population can choose to obey the law or not like in so many other areas like driving without insurance, window tint, proper exhaust system, noise levels, etc.?

If people keep looking to The State for solutions why do they then bitch about the results?

.I just never use the high beams anymore.

You're likely one of the many who should adjust your headlights because you are blinding everyone else

The good folks at Toyota who engineered that vehicle actually made those headlights adjustable so customers and mechanics can adjust them.

Are they not dimmed or are they those ridiculous arse LED lights that no one has angled correctly?

I've considered wearing sunglasses at night to deal with it, but if I'm out late it's usually on freeways so I only have to deal with it from the rear. But I'm with you, the new LEDs are complete bullshite. I'd love to have a rack mounted on the roof that's just sort of looking into the sun to say eff you.

Mine auto dims sometimes from light bouncing off of signs.

A) People driving 2008 Malibus or Altimas with 1 or both low-beam bulbs burnt out, so they leave their brights on instead of just changing the fricking bulb.

I don't know about Altimas but my daughter's 2011 Mazda is designed specifically to thwart DIY light replacement. It's tough, but can be done.

It's usually not the brightness that's the issue. It's the people that don't adjust the angle. This used to be an inspection sticker (brake tag) check.

Regardless of how easy or difficult it is to change it, driving around with brights on because you have a bulb out is a dick move.

Better adjustment would improve many, but some are just so bright that it doesn't make a difference on a two lane. There is no reason to have regular lights that bright.

They're adjusted properly. Even verified by my mechanic.

Some people just have sensitive eyes and automatically assume everything life throws at them is someone else's fault.

You said it routinely happens that people assume your brights are on…
