Summers are awesome, even in the south. I grew up with the humidity. It doesn't bother me. It is daylight for like 13 hours a day. The storms are awesome. The grilling is awesome. Everything is green. It is great. Plus, as someone who likes to hike, it is way more enjoyable when it is green and all the animals are out and about. All outdoor activities are available to do.

I'll never understand love for winter. Everything is muddy. It gets dark at 6pm. Everything is dead. Everyone is sick. It is miserable outside. Winter has no redeeming qualities. It is when humanity suffers the most.

Swimsuit season and it sucks to workout and run when it's 50
Degrees outside. Blood doesn't flow as well. Also you don't have to work as hard if you are trying to lose weight because it's so hot and easy to sweat.

I didn't experience a real "winter" until I was in my 20's. One of the perks of growing up in Miami is that it's always beach season.

I love winter. It's beautiful out, lakes are frozen, skiing is 10 minutes away, the Aurora, ice fishing. Town I live looks great in snow. It's easy to walk on the frozen lake to the Mendenhall Glacier

It looks like I'm one of the few that enjoys winter. I like when it is snowing, Christmas decorations are put up, you've got your beverage of choice (hot coffee, a nice chocolate stout, or a nice Bourbon), the fireplace is roaring...something like Dean Martin or Sinatra is spinning...it's very relaxing.

Totally agree. Plus, I like that I can wear a wider variety of clothes in fall/winter.

Winter in the South is pretty comfortable anyway. I'm amazed when I see people bitching about highs in the 50s.

Fall/Spring camping and hiking is sooo much better than Summer. I like winter camping and hiking as well, which is really easy in the South.

Give me a summer in the Appalachians over that any time of the year.

I guess that depends on what you like to do, but if it involves doing anything outside, you have to respect the heat. Heat stroke is very dangerous and is possible in our extreme temperatures. The worst thing about heat stroke is that it sneaks up on you. Your body's ability to regulate its own temperature is important and a fine balancing act. People die from it.

Summer sucks. And I have summer breaks.

I feel better when I am productive and I am more productive when I can go outside in the daylight.

I was up in South Dakota recently. It was so nice. It was 95 degrees outside and it didn't feel hot at all.

zero appeal. frick summer in texas. frick texas and the south in general. 80 degrees during the winter months is fricked up too. give me mid 40's overcast perma-drizzle every day for the rest of my life. frick the sun. frick burning my elbow on my car door. frick ice cream for melting all over my hand before i finish it. frick backyard pools that are warm. frick having to wear pants to work, when it's clearly shorts weather. frick sweating when outside longer than a minute. frick not being able to go outside for longer than a minute. frick humidity. frick the fricking frickers that only fricking talk about how fricking great the fricking summer is. frick it all.

...frick it.

If we had hard winters we'd appreciate summer more. But I agree, I hate summer as well.

I hate so much when I'm clean and dressed for work. I walk out to my car and hit the road and within minutes my back is sweating.

frick summer. It sucks.
