That may be, but the general populace of those areas cant exactly go to the local Winn-Dixie to get meat for that night now can they? They cant go buy bottled water anytime they want from 100 different vendors within a square mile of their home can they? They live a different lifestyle...an entirely much more independent lifestyle than the typical American. If the grid would go down, ALOT of people would starve to death within a month.

I live in a city that doesn't even have sidewalks many times, and everything hinges upon transportation to do anything, and truthfully, I think many of our citizens would fall out with a cardiac arrest if they had to get on a bike and ride it 5 miles down the street in the middle of summer.

There are standby diesel generators all over the place that are not connected to the grid and in a lot of cases stored in basements or surrounded by concrete and therefore would be unaffected by the emp. You people act like an emp would destroy everything having to do with electricity.

Now all you have to figure out is how to pump it and get it there to fuel that facility, or refine it in the first place.

On my scale of things to worry about, a massive EMP strike is about #3774.

This is probably a retarded question. Would an EMP effect electronics that are turned off or unplugged?

This is all part of Agenda 21. The Bildebergs are going to conduct a worldwide EMP strike to cull the herd and bring Earth's population down to a sustainable level. All the ammo purchases by the government are to deal with the mass chaos following the strike. They will protect the elites and let the rest of us die off. There's still room on my sailboat if anyone wants in.

Yes. There are ways to isolate the effects, and that's the heart of the issue.

of course, in the case of an EMP strike, the government would helplessly watch as the remaining diesel in the country is consumed by people who tow their boats with old F-250 diesel trucks, thereby dooming us to 10 years of rebuilding all of the electrical infrastructure by hand with wood-powered forges.

It's a big country my friend, and it depends on an arse load of energy to just keep running, much less rebuild the entire electric grid from the ground up from sea to shining sea without that energy or manufacturing capability we depend upon, and in the meantime is probably much more concerning as people try to figure out a way to simply put food in their mouths and find drinkable water to keep alive, or get rid of their sewage so as to not live in a disease ridden pitre dish.

The likelihood that EMP takes out the entire grid in this country is pretty slim. Locally and even regionally, it could be a disaster that will require a lot of aid and disaster response....but not unlike what we have had to deal with before(Sandy, Katrina, etc).

Of course. I have a shortwave radio buried underground encased in metal with my stash of AR15s and ammo and antibiotics.

I'd say simply the number of people on the East coast who are tied up in hospitals on their death beds would easily number 1/2 million, and they'd certainly die (provided the hospital's generator is also destroyed). Not to mention plane and car crashes, and its in the millions.

Despite what the movies have told you, sewers aren't even close to being big enough for a human to survive.
