Just write it off. That's what I do for everything I purchase. Groceries, new electronics, vacations? All a write off. I just throw those letters in the mail from the IRS in the trash.

Damn. My neighbors son is fricking up his STI. Dude drove on a donut for weeks.
He pays $700 a month for the car. He got screwed by a dealership as the car had no warranty. Engine blew. He took out a loan for $11k for a new engine. He also gets in a wreck a year. So he told me he's paying $1200 a month to drive that car and he makes $500 a week.

Do you have any side jobs that you might be able to deduct 1,920 non-reimbursed miles? Some years, I drive an additional 3000-4000 miles doing deals outside of work for my side hustle.

Do you have a road hazard warranty on the tires?

WRXs (including the STI) are a little different. 2015 WRX owner's manual says to turn the differential LSD knob to the loosest position. There's no fuse mentioned.

Subarus with an automatic are what I was thinking of. These largely use a simple clutch instead of a center differential. Most other manufacturers have sold similar AWD systems. The clutch locks up on a straightaway and unlocks when turning. You can feel it slip and "rubber band" the car up to speed if you get on the accelerator coming out of a curve. Now, if that clutch is locked up and the axles (or "axils") are turning different speeds, there's an inherent conflict and the clutch will burn up.

STI or not, I still wouldn't drive around very long on the donut. You're working (and heating up) the center differential. The risk would be trashing your center LSD, though, not turning your STI into a 2WD vehicle altogether.

2. Or better yet I’d plug/patch it myself. If you do using a kit from the store make sure to get some rubber cement to coat the plug with if it’s one of the kits that don’t come with it. 3. Go to another mom and pop tire place or others until you find one that will plug/patch it. Tire places have gotten extremely over cautious with the not plugging holes because it’s too close to sidewall. If it’s ON the sidewall then it’s not wise to do. If it’s on the edge of the tread you’re fine if it’s done properly. It’s a liability issue for them.

I’d go with these two

Yeah that’s bullshite

Where does the OP say it’s a Subaru? Usually lesbians understand about plugging tires.

Jfc. Do you really believe this? You do understand that the inner wheels in any turn also move much slower/travel less distance than the outer wheels right?

Lol. The OT never fails to disappoint in old wives tales.

Just rent the same vehicle and swap all 4 tires like another OP did.

Same thing happened to me a few weeks ago. Boss paid for the new tire (i only needed 1 tire).

Seems like right thing to do

As long as the nail isn't in the actual sidewall, put a plug in it and move on with your life until it's actually time to replace. Tire shops are becoming super conservative on what they're willing to repair.

Ask your husband to explain why high school level physics proves this to be false. Hint, tires don’t have motion relative to the ground.

Lol. The shite tire salespeople come up with.

I can understand how someone with single digit IQ doesn't know the difference between a 20 yard turn and 10's of thousands of miles.

I put a ton of miles on my vehicle for work and it’s all reimbursed. That mileage check covers gas and wear and tear.
