Definitely for when they turn one. The Chicco keyfit 30 is great for newborns. You need to be able to bring it in restaurants & doctors appointments.
Yep and yep.
Chico was a winner. That thing is going EVERYWHERE with you. Inside, outside, restaurant tables, inside wagons. It’s importance is not just as a car seat.

These are questions for chicks to answer. I have 4 kids and can not answer any of that. Having kids is fun and terrible all at the same time, but the good far outweighs the bad. Grats man!

You would be surprised at the stuff you don't need. You can put them in a laundry basket when they are small.

Dont purchase the big car seat stroller system. Get car seat and then get a comparable small stroller like this. They dont take up much room and are very light. Very easy to use.

Spend the money on good car seats. They fit better and the difference in quality is very visible.

Just had our first 10 months ago.
Sam’s Club or Costco on diapers and wipes. But throw a diaper shower and bribe your friends with booze. We are 10 months in and haven’t bought diapers yet. You can exchange for alternate sizes.
If you have siblings or in laws with kids, get the same car seat as them so family can share the car seat base. Get a base that buckles in with the clips, not the kind you have to use your seatbelt. (As long as your car has receiver clips)
Get a backpack style diaper bag. You won’t look like a total douche and your ands are free to grab your wife’s new bouncy jugs.
Get a baby monitor that lets you talk to them. I can practice putting and chipping in the back yard during her naps and talk to her when she wakes up. (Infant optics is solid)
Generic brand for clothes, playpen, wipes, soaps, towels, and generally anything that isn’t a safety concern. Buy used kids clothes online and sell or trade your old ones.
And booze. Lots of booze.

You need to worry about sleeping, right now.
Use a backpack for a baby bag, though. That other crap is emasculating.

Stroller - Bugaboo without a doubt. We have three strollers: Bugaboo B3, City Select double, and an easy fold up stroller. The Bugaboo is the smoothest ride and worth the price IMO.
We are on our second kid and never used a big diaper bag. My wife uses a makeup bag that she got as a free gift. It is the size of a shaving kit and big enough to fit a few diapers, wipes, and A&D. Everything else can fit at the bottom of the stroller. Screw messing around with a big arse bag.

This thing called a dock a tot has been a huge savior for us in the sleep department. Chico key fit and all the crap that come with it like extra base, stroller and adapters are at Target and you can catch on sale. Some like the baby Breza if your wife doesn't breast feed. Bob Strollers if you like walking outside. And get the kid some nice clothes, don't listen to these people. Kissy Kissy and Kickee Pants clothes are soft as shite. Oh and get diapers (Higgins from Costco on sale right now), lots and lots of diapers!

This guys post reminded me of something I forgot to say to the OP. What's way more important than buying any crap for your kids? Being an involved Dad. If you don't know which baby items have been helpful to raising your kids then you're not involved enough.

buy as shed for the lawn mower but you will use it for a place to hide to get peace and quiet. stock it with plenty of booze and sme good weed so you dont go insane. also the wife will want her turn hiding in the shed too so she doesnt go insane (well any more then she already is norma
And Bose Quiet Comfort headphones, you want to be able honestly say you didn't hear the kid crying. My kids are old, looking back I can't believe how many days I worked after a night with no sleep, it would kill ne today.

Ditto what this guy said. I was in the room with my wife when both of my kids were born.....after seeing what she went through I had no reason to complain about changing a diaper at 3am. That being said I silently dog cussed her coming and going when she put the kids to sleep in the button up onesies. ONLY USE THE ZIPPER ONESIES. Ditto what the other guy said about the sound machines, those things are gold.

We won’t have to but diapers for a few more months but Amazon is the cheapest place to get Pampers diapers by far, they’re usually 3-5 cents cheaper per diaper than even Sam’s.

And video monitor is a must

Don’t spend much on anything other than a car seat and stroller. Definitely don’t buy expensive clothes. Having a kid is the ultimate life changer.
If it’s a son don’t let him grow up to be a pussy, if it’s a girl keep her off the stripper pole. Good luck

Agree if you insist on using pampers, but honestly target brand was just as good and even cheaper. Pampers sensitive skin wipes are the best though.

This car seat hasn't failed my kid yet. Sturdy and strong.
