Plan is to expand the end of the Canal street line to turn on City Park Ave and onto Canal Blvd. I don't know why this hasn't happened yet since that's both main stops for RTA and JET buses.

I know personally I've had a rough/dangerous time stumbling across that intersection trying to get from the Canal St streetcar to the Bulldog mid-city and back.

Think they are going to build a barn there as well since it's the end of the road. The one on Willow isn't all that big, probably squeeze it right there in the over sized neutral ground.

They actually had two of them wreck into each other a week or so ago during Mardi Gras

Those guys will blow through some intersections on St. Charles. I mean they have the green light but it's still dangerous due to other drivers not looking out for them and treating them as other vehicles.

I wish they would expand the line all the way down canal into Lakeview. That will never happen though

That would be the next step obviously..... The problem would be crossing the train track right there by Navarre Ave.

eta: same reason why they won't even try going down Carrollton. Can't cross the train track by the Burger King past Tulane.

That intersection is a massive clusterfrick.

It's almost as bad as anything on Robert E. Lee in Metairie.

I'll take the under if they decide to do it and break ground.

I know some guys that do that sorta work. I think the company is actually out of San Diego. The dudes do pretty good and fast work all things considering. Much better than the Boh Brothers and others doing that drainage work uptown

As the rest of the country moves to high speed rail, New Orleans is spending millions of dollars on method of transit that was founded in the early 1800's

I saw a dude pull right in front of one on st. Charles, let people out of his car and then actually tried to unload a tent, ladders, etc. for the parade. Even people standing away from him were screaming at him to move. They had MS plates

Does that story really surprise you so much that it's not believable?
