I really enjoyed the light rail in Houston. Made the streetcar seem like a toy

Does that story really surprise you so much that it's not believable?

You have no idea.... MS plate people are bad but the absolute worst is the ones with Tx plates.. I swear there must not be a single one way street in Texas by the way they drive. Working in the quarter and living in the CBD you see people turning the wrong way on a one way way too often.

If I see someone going the wrong way down a one way, I bet whomever around that once they pass they will be sporting TX plates and win nearly every time

I did that I'm downtown Houston last August. Damn Google maps was like a block ahead. I was able to correct myself before a bunch of cars came

I need to start looking more at the plates, I'm usually too busy shaking my head and giving them "what are you thinking" hands up look. Much more effective than the finger.

Haha don't feel bad.... I was on my block pretty much and somehow made the wrong turn and tried to hurry up and just get to the next block... And before I could a fricking OT poster just HAPPENED to be walking down that block and saw me and posted a thread asking WTF was I doing

nah, grew up in LA, live in TX, probably can't name a place I haven't driven in this country, heavy traffic wise, NOLA has some fricked up traffic "engineering"

just curious as to why you would say that...what are the construction deficiencies there, in your opinion?

I can see how it would be confusing to a visitor but now I'm just a typical Nola driver. Everyone on the road sucks but me

I don't remember... I mean it was pretty funny. I had people texting me, like my ex wondering if I was drunk and shite. But this was like mid day

Dude just HAPPENED to be walking downtown right by my apt that day. Hadn't seen the guy in maybe a year

Don't really have any real reason to blast them. I don't know anything on the jobs or whatever. I'm just talking out of frustration from always seeing them and it seems like projects take forever. No specific beef or reason for targeting them. Just an easy target.

so you see them doing a lot of work that takes a long time to complete...and that to you makes you think they don't know what they are doing

gotcha

Pretty much.... except for the part about me thinking they don't know what they are doing... I don't think that, I just think it takes them a bunch of man hours to do what they "know they are doing"

It took 4 days to fix a pot hole in my street. 4 days....

It was also only one out of a few dozen, then they moved on to another street. It made zero sense aside from establishing job security

based on your admitted lack of knowledge of either the scope or the schedule of the projects, right?

fascinating
