Yea, you can't do that.

Maybe not.

But 54 years is a bit on the excessive side for doing it.

What's the leniency to the criminal that occurred here? Or would have occurred here if they weren't shot? They still could have been prosecuted.

Not sure why you’re laughing, bc your own example makes no sense unless you say a speeder gets the same penalty whether or not he kills a kid.

In what world is a murder and attempted murder sentence of 50 years excessive?

This is an automatic life sentence in some places.

Nope. I'm well aware of what's going on, but none of that makes a policy that you can start a car chase and fire bullets all over town a rational response.

If I was on the jury I wouldn’t vote guilty but shooting at them after they flee isn’t legal.

Chase them and call the cops to come arrest them, sure.

It was proved in 2010 census. That the biggest cause of population increase was from domestic immigration from California…
I moved my family out in 2011 with the legalization of pot coming.

Conservative virtue signaling

I’ll take that. Conservative virtue signaling is John Wick vengeance on criminal trash.

Your people virtue signal by castrating children and fetishizing thugs.

Ex-Space Force Sergeant sentenced to 54 years for murder There

I don’t think it’s murder. Manslaughter at worse. Heat of the moment. Someone is committing a felony against you and you retaliate.

100% bet the thiefs had to be black and this occurred in a blue state without even reading the article.

If it was black on black, the guy shooting would have got probation.

A world that doesn’t bother pretending that the car thieves’ lives had value. A world that recognizes that this guy was minding his own business but snapped at becoming a victim. A world that recognizes there are zero consequences for criminals like these, and that they would’ve already been back out on the street victimizing other innocent people.

Nope. I’d bet my house he gets arrested before 18 for stealing another car or committing some other felony again.

This guy would be getting mandatory life in prison Louisiana for this, FWIW

I doubt they would even get a unanimous jury in Louisiana for this. Maybe manslaughter or negligent homicide.

Zero percent chance of a murder conviction in LA.

Something tells me you’ve never been anywhere near a criminal trial.

Yea that went out the window the moment they fled the scene and he got in his car—that they didn’t steal—and chased them down to shoot them. He has no legal defense.

Aww, too bad. Guess we’ll have to wait until the next time he decides to commit a felony and someone does us the favor.
