I travel quite a bit. Regardless of politics right/wrong, every time I go somewhere extremely liberal people seem to be a lot healthier and happier. You see more people exercising whether out running on the trails or in the hotel gym.
The more southern/conservative areas…people tend to be overweight, grumpy, etc. and NOBODY is ever in the hotel gym and more interested in checking out the restaurants vs going for a run after the day is over.

I noticed it big time when i went to Boulder. Colorado has the resources to where someone can be active any time of the year. Hiking, rafting, skiing, etc. They are smart enough to realize that when you prioritize physical well being, you are happier, feel better, and everyone has an awesome quality of life.
I run the levee every week and everytime i see people getting after it and being active it motivates me to do the same and keep the healthy lifestyle. It is a damn shame that people normalize the "big is beautiful" shite. I personally think that is a cancerous weak arse mindset to have.
Edit: They are also smart enough to realize that when you have a clean, litter free environment, everyone is happier

It's actually difficult these days to find nice affordable clothes in medium sizes because all the racks are stuffed with 2xl, 3xl, etc.
And yes, I am OT poor and have to shop off the rack vs a personal tailor.

This 100%
They've also tapered most of the cuts of shirts to be wider in the belly. If you are a slim or fit guy, it's damn near impossible to find a good fitting shirt because of the design assumption that even if you are small you have a big gut.

I disagreed with you in another thread. I agree with this.
It's a catch-22, because liberal cities are healthier than conservative cities, the people are generally better looking, people are outdoors, smiling, recreating, etc.
But that also means that the trails are being frequented, harder to get free equipment in a gym, hotel gyms are in use, etc.
Still, I prefer to be around the happy, fit, smiling people rather than people in the South.
Generally, people in the South look at you like you have two heads when you're on vacation and want to workout and not eat sausage and wings and get plastered on a boat all day. God forbid you take a book to the beach.

I think it's all relative. In my experience everyone everywhere in the US is fat as frick. Maybe Colorado isn't as bad as Louisiana but they're still fat. I went to California where they have perfect weather year round and no excuse not to go outside, but couldn't help but notice how fat everyone was. All the Mexicans are fat. I went to Hawaii, and all the Hawaiians were fat. It's everyone

It will take generational change.
The current adults who fall within the 66% all need to be on a GLP-1.

I see my friends kids on FB and cant understand how 80% are obese.
How do you allow your kids to get like that? Can't wrap my head around that one.

I remember when fat camp was an actual thing. It's like it's not only condoned now, but encouraged.
