Ever visit your old employers (to see friends/coworkers)?

I was pretty close with 2 or 3 guys in the office, amicable with the others, and worked there for ~2 years. I moved away to go back to school full time. I occasionally keep up with at least one of the guys still by text.

It's been about a year since I left, but I will be in the area soon for other business. Is it weird to drop by the office and catch up with the group, or would it just be awkward?

Nah, if it’s an amicable split you’ll be fine.

You left to move away to finish school. If you are on good terms with everyone why would it be awkward?

I couldn't go back to my old employer since I went to HR and destroyed my boss on my last day with emails and recordings. Although he got fired, some who loved him and thought he walked on water are still there. My desire to avoid them outweighs my desire to visit my friends there.

We have former employees who drop by occasionally from time to time. No big deal.

Completely normal. I’m in a place now where I actually buy from my old employer so I can really drag them through the dirt since I know all their margins.

Boned one of the chicks that still works there, and not sure she'd be happy to see my face

Meet up with them for lunch. Regardless of what anyone says, management doesn’t want former or non employees ‘hanging out’ in the office.

About an hour ago, a guy that used to work at my office came by to say hello. Everyone that worked here when he was here was out of the office, but me and my other coworker who are in the office know who he is, and we chatted it up with him for a while. We don't even know him, and it wasn't weird at all.

I have a few times. I only visited a couple of guys out of 100 that worked there. Morality is at all time low so I don't think I'll be going into the office, but my buddy in the shop, I would visit if I pass through.

Dont burn bridges and it sounds like you had a good relationship so not weird.

I switched to a competitor and they have been talking shite, so frick those guys at the old place. They wouldn't welcome a visit from me at this point. That bridge was burned to the ground.
