My brother in law was murdered during Mardi Gras right after Katrina. He and my sister were walking home on Magazine when someone ran him over. They had only been married 10 months.

I used to know a dude that shot two people (killed one) off Hoo Shoo Too years back. He ended up taking his own life before being sentenced.

I just couldn't comprehend how one of them played football with him, then turn around and gang beat him into a pulp. Ride around for a few hours and then dump him, at some point you would think one of them would think, "hey this is wrong to do to another human delivering pizzas"

Some deranged lunatic busted into her apartment looking for someone (he had the wrong apartment). Since he didn't find who he was looking for, he killed he with a claw hammer. She was a few weeks from graduating college.
So tragic.

My next door neighbor growing up was. She was early 20s. Beautiful girl. Husband/live in man killed her. He wasn't convicted until ~10 years after. He almost got away with it.

Used to work with a guy who could not leave the married women alone. We would play golf together and he would brag to me. I would always tell him he better stop it or it would catch up with him.
He was shot and stabbed to death by the husband of one of his lady friends. The killer is serving life.

She was a friend, sister of a friend, class mate and was dating my roommate/best friend at the time of the murder.

I knew the nursing student who was killed by an ex boyfriend near Mcneese campus earlier this year. I wasn't really close with her recently, but knew her well back in high school. Supposedly an affair gone wrong (the guy was married). It was a murder suicide, still creepy to think about.
