Ever just need to blow off some steam?

I've built about 487,000 pieces of furniture since we've been together and never once have I failed to complete a project.
Tonight she kept taking little shots at how long it was taking me to build 2 nightstands for our teenage daughter.
When I got to the end I realized there was some missing hardware so I told her I'm going to have to finish it tomorrow and she walks over; pulls the drawer out which droops and says "I'll just call someone who can actually build it right." and I just lost it. Put my jacket on and walked out before I said what was on the tip of my tongue
and now I'm at a bar around the corner having a couple beers.

Better to leave and let her know you won’t tolerate that behavior than sink to having a blow up in front of the kids. She’ll eventually get the message. One day you won’t come back.

She can call a repair guy and wait 2 months (and spend money).
